PA - 13 dead, including 7 children, in Philadelphia row house fire, Jan 2022

Beautiful children. The looks on firefighters faces as well as police present told a story.

Fairmount. Gorgeous brownstones divided up with at the most two ways out.

Our city mourns and questions.

Thank you to our tremendously heroic firefighters and our Philly police. All first responders. Thank you.

In my last two PA apartments there was only ONE way out. Now I live in a house and only have two ways out. How many do you think there should be?

Philly officials say a preliminary investigation shows the Fairmount fire that killed 12 last week was likely started when a Christmas tree went up in flames and was ignited by a lighter. A “traumatized” child had told officials he was playing with the lighter when tree caught.

Smoking is one reason to have a lighter in the home. Perhaps the occupants of the Christmas tree unit disabled their smoke detectors to smoke indoors. (Yes, the lease probably prohibits smoking and yes, there are several reasons for non-smokers to have lighters). JMO.

Poor 5yr old is going to need lots of skilled therapy.
