Holy smokes, I lived in a renovated Bethlehem Steel building across the street from this hotel for almost 10 years. About 5-7 years ago they refurbished it to look. little “nicer”/more “upscale” than it had in the past, but it’s located right on the border between the campus of the pricey and prestigious Lehigh University and the lower-income Fountain Hill section of Bethlehem’s South Side and thus still had a reputation (fairly or unfairly) for being a little “seedy.” Events like this one, unfortunately, won’t help to dispel this.

Unfortunately, things like this probably happen in the nicest of hotels/motels. I don't see how you can stop a person from renting a room if they have the proper ID and a credit card. Once inside the room, you can't control what the occupants are doing.

Remember, the Craigslist killer? The traveling masseuses went to nice hotels where businessmen were staying...You can put two and two together on that one...
