Police said Huzyak’s body was found in an upstairs bedroom. A note left by Baker, who officials told Marcinkiewicz took off with a gun, was also found.

Marcinkiewicz reported that the district attorney believes that Baker is out of the state and in contact with a family member. He is being urged to turn himself in.

Lozier said Baker drove out of the state and is a danger to himself and others.

“He is in contact with a family member who is trying to get him to turn himself in to a local hospital,” Lozier said.

Marcinkiewicz confirmed that Baker is a registered sex offender. She reported that he is in communication with his family member via text messages and that police believe he is on his way to Tennessee.

"Detectives said Baker had his phone on him at all times while he was on the run from police for nearly 20 hours, staying in constant communication with his father."

"According to the criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, one text that Baker sent his father read, “The voices made me do it. I can't take ‘em (sic) anymore. They won't go away.”

"The complaint also revealed that Baker’s father stopped at the gas station where he son failed to report to work on Monday, told employees that Baker had just killed his girlfriend and was on the run. He asked that no one say anything, but employees immediately called police, the complaint said."


The video states Baker had assaulted another victim in 2010 under Megan's law. Not sure what that is but LE was concerned enough to make sure she (his previous victim) was safe while he was on the run. Sounds like one bad dude.....And the family has now secured a high profile attorney for him. Sounds like this guy has been coddled too long by his family. imo

Megan's Law was passed in response to the murder of Megan Kanka and requires that LE/authorities make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders.

A western Pennsylvania jury has convicted a man of first-degree murder in the rape and slaying of his ex-girlfriend last year.

The Beaver County panel deliberated for less than two hours Monday before convicting 27-year-old Edward Baker in the June death of 30-year-old Addaleigh Huzyak.
