Following. I wonder where/how/by whom he was last seen. I wonder if there are any archived new articles about his disappearance. Poor kid.

This unidentified male was found floating in the Frankford Creek near Thompson St, only thing found on him was a brass key and $2.

Age-at-Death Estimate from dental development and epophyseal fusion is 12-20 years old, likely in the 12-16 year range

Location, est age certainly warrant review imo.

Has anyone made the submission? The collar in Andrew's photo looks like it could be similar to the kind of coat in the artist's renderings of what UP16972 was wearing. It seems like a probable match, especially when it's been so many decades since the family believes he went missing - they could have their year wrong, even.

The Doe has very dark hair, I wonder if it could have darkened with age.

The recon appears to have almost black hair, but the description says brown. Andrew's photo looks blonde, but the description says sandy. I think there is room for both aging resulting in darker hair from the time when his photo was taken and for interpretation error in the recon. Here is the recon with lighter hair and Andrew's photo oriented to be in a position more similar to the recon:

I think the bridge of the nose, brow line, eye shape, and mouth shape are all spot on.

I have reached out to the detective assigned to this case and I have emailed them this suggestion. Hopefully we get an answer soon, and the family has closure.

Andrew Nedby is certainly a potential match for the Philadelphia John Doe.

I hope Andrew's family can get answers very soon.

I kinda wonder if my mom might have been a teacher of his at one point. She taught "emotionally disturbed" and deaf children in Philly during these years. He's a beautiful kid. I'm excited about this potential match and hope his family finds peace after all these years.

interesting thing to note, the Philadelphia police department said that this case was assigned to the special victims' unit. Would that be because of his age? Why not the missing persons unit, cold cases unit, etc?

I was thinking if anyone seeks archived news articles about AN's disappearance, it might be worth checking in 1975 also, since we're speculating about a Doe found in '75... Just in case there's a mistake with the year here. (I know it's a long-shot...)

Anyone had any luck?

My assumption based on the statement that he’s being reported as long time missing by surviving family members, and SVU being involved, was that this may have been a suspicious disappearance that went unreported by the caregivers and that LE may have only been recently informed.

Yeah, I can't find anything on him in the papers.

Assuming it is the main Nedby Family from PA that I was looking into online, it appears that the mother and father both had passed away by 1975. I wonder if this child was then sent into someone else's care and not looked after properly.
