I think there is big difference between sub-Sahara Africa and Italy. They can determine groups, but not down to that level, as of this point.

DNA testing can get pretty darn specific, they can identify haplogroups to differentiate those from Europe, different areas of Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, etc... Populations that have remained relatively stationary are the easiest to nail down.

In the UK they are talking about using it as a way of identifying fraudulent asylum seekers (i.e. someone claims they are fleeing Somalia, yet they don't speak the language and their dna says they are from the Kenyan region).

DNA and ethnicity is a very touchy subject because it is not PC. It is considered "okay" to use it to identify the ethnicity of victims moresoe than killers.

Broad differences yes, on a subcontinental level, yes, but not that narrow to a national level, and it doesn't necessarily translate into what the guy (or woman) looks like.

And that is another problem. Historically, the UK and Kenya are not diverse (though the UK has become more so after WWII). The US, and especially Hispanic populations have tended to be.

Some may have a majority sub-Saharan ancestry and look white or Hispanic. Someone may have a majority of European (non Hispanic) ancestry and look black or Hispanic. Someone may be Hispanic and look black or white.

We've yet to reverse engineer from a DNA profile to a physical description.

P.C. or not I can verify that in this city of Philadelphia I have heard reports of bank robbers, murderers, and rapists described by race. I have at times heard only that they are male or female and approximate age. I've read it as well.

Flat out honest I have no idea about Eastern European genetics save for I have some. Well alot. I know didddly about DNA. This murderer was described as Latino or Black, right? Filly being the rocket scientist that she is figures ummmmmm maybe the dude is Dominican? That's all I got. However, the guy spoke. Did he have an accent? Maybe he's from like Boston or something?

The other women went to the police way after the fact.

Unfortunately the majority of these women are prostitutes, and addicts. I don't know any prostitutes that are lining up while they are dope sick to get a rape kit done.

The problem is getting from a DNA profile to a physical description. You can make broad classifications, i.e. he's a he, or he has some Sub Saharan ancestry, or his eyes are blue. That really doesn't equate to a way to identry him on the street.

He could be second generation, or of mixed genetic ancestry (or blond with blue eyes, for that matter).

Annoying as all Hell, but quite accurate. Some of them probably regard it as an occupational hazard, unfortunately.

I don't really know too many prostitutes that will go to the police and say, "I was raped while high on illegal drugs and committing acts of prostitution." They might as well just carry a sign that says, "Feel free to victimize me."

Not sure they are thinking "I won't be believed". More like yes it IS an occupational hazard, they don't want to mess with the police, end up filing charges, having to deal with the court system, etc... They spend their lives trying to avoid that system!

They want to get over it, make some more money and get another fix. Only if it gets really bad, as in murder or serious injury do they start feeling they should get the authorities involved.

Plus realistically if I were on a jury hearing some street prostitute complain about a rape that did NOT involve battery I would think the case was ridiculous.

I was looking at a pattern. He had been striking twice monthly, usually before the tenth check day (usually about the 3rd to 7th welfare check day). Ah, Monday was holiday, so it wouldn't start until today.

Hiya T. Nope our snow did done melted. We're supposed to be getting some flurries overnight but nothing big.

Thank you for your compassion T for these women.

Often alot of these ladies/girls T they have warrants out on them. Also you have runaways sometimes. More important to them if they're heroin addicts they don't want to be stuck anywhere inclduing a hospital in case they start getting sick. It's an awful way to live. Very sad. So as mentioned they will avoid anything that has to do with going to the cops.

Thank you again, T. I know you care. Let's keep praying JJ is right and he's locked up or something. If he just skeedaddled there's going to be more women turning up murdered.
