PA PA - ANTONIO RODRIGUEZ Kensington Strangler

  • #301
One thing they don't mention in the video is that the woman Shawcross' team brought in to verify his history of molestation as a child. (She's interviewed in the documentary.) Was just totally destroyed by First District Attorney, at that time Charles Siragusa, while she was on the stand. He made her look stupid and IIRC, many jurors pointed to her testimony as hurting Shawcross' defense.

I hope the prosecution for KC's case contacts him because his performance was masterful.

Or he's getting a lot better at hiding the bodies now that he knows everyone is on the lookout.

Possible, but I personally doubt it. The guy does not sound smart (i.e. the dna) and he very well may not even have a vehicle which is why he kept killing and dumping in the same area. Hiding the bodies would probably mean transporting them out of the city which seems like too big of a change in his MO.

Snow in North Phila, 1-2 inches, light. Roads are passable, including side streets.

Welfare payments ending in 4 should be out today.

Sonya, I don't this guy is particularly bright either.

Sheesh Kensington sure has plenty of stranglers! Maybe this Quincy guy wasn't the strangler rapist afterall, maybe the same guy did all of them and Quincy took the rap because he was "one" of the dna matches. There isn't much info on the other evidence that got him convicted.

Longshot as if the original victims did have the killers dna then it would likely to matched to the latest victims.

Colorado D.A. offers Philadelphia help in Kensington strangler case
Denver District Attorney Mitchell Morrissey says he wants to help Philadelphia police catch the Kensington strangler using a new forensics technology known as familial DNA.

The technique can help zero in on suspects by using DNA to identify their close relatives.

Familial DNA has helped police crack several cold cases in England; last summer, it helped capture a suspected notorious California serial killer.

Yeah I absolutely remember this guy, T. I especially remember him because he dimed out Andrew Bomar. Well turned on him as they were in jail together. Bomar is a notoriously awful person who ran around murdering women.

Williams was in prison on manslaughter charges and released.

There was a rash of attacks on prostitutes in 2009 and they locked him up months later. Me? No way do I think they are the same person. Well obviously not as Williams is locked up, but I don't think the present strangler was the one hurt those women. I think he is fairly new to this.

Put it bluntly there's probably a pack of men strangling, slapping, kicking, and punching prsotitutes at this moment. They're easy prey. Unfortunately Kensington is where they work.

Drugs. It's all about drugs. As I said before that not all addicts are prostitutes and not all prostitutes are addicts. That strangler knew where drugs were involved he could just do whatever he felt like.

Kensington lots tidied up in effort to avert killings

snip
"It's a shame it took this to clean it up," Martinez said of the lot, adjacent to his garage, where the killer's first-known victim, Nicole Goldberg, was found Nov. 3.

T, thank you for posting this. I saw it in the aper. It's a da*n shame.

Absentee landlord's. The best is how they say the city cleaned it up and will bill the owners. Get the heck outta here.

Sadly this is just a few properties. A very few. With no exaggeration this part of the neighborhood looks like war torn Iraq or something. It's rampant with drugs. They forgot this neighborhood years and years ago. It was at one time a thriving, industrial part of Philly. Now it's a he*l hole.

Personally I don't think the guy is locked up. Lord only knows where the heck he went, but I doubt it's jail.

The body was found in a home on the 1900 block of E. Sterner Street in Philly.
My FoxPhilly is working to confirm that the Kensington Strangler Task Force is heading to this location.

A woman's body was found in an abandoned home in Philadelphia's Kensington section Tuesday afternoon.

Police tell Action News that the victim was found by the fire department and pronounced dead at the scene.

The building in which she was found is an abandoned home and known drug house along the 1900 block of East Sterner Street.

The woman is described as a white female in her late 20's

Police say the body of a 20-year-old female was discovered about 11 AM today in a house in the 1900 block of East Sterner Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The discovery is in the target area where the so-called “Kensington Strangler” — a serial killer tied to three murders at the end of last year — had been operating

and another snip:

Police sources say the victim had apparently been dead for some time

Poor girl was found at 11:00 on 1/11/11. Sounds like an OD. This isn't all that uncommon unfortunately. I think we're hearing about it because of the strangler.

RIP young lady. Somebody somewhere cares about you I am sure.

Either the poor girl had a record or actually had ID on her.

If she was the victim of KS, it would blow my "welfare check" theory. Likewise, if there is no attack in about a week, it blows that theory as well. (I kinda hope the theory is wrong.)

At least you have a theory, J.J. I got nothing.

Nothing in the news about the poor young lady today. I think because they described her as white and 20 years old everybody got jumpy. If there was no strangler and I wish there wasn't this death would have come and gone like so many before this poor girl. Another dead addict in an abandoned house. :(

J.J. do you have to go into the welfare office to get the check? If the strangler was getting a check could he have moved so the welfare office would be changed?

"Nothing" is probably better than a wrong theory. We start looking for evidence to support that theory and miss other things, or come up with explanations of why it doesn't work.

I'm a bit less sympathetic, because it was her choice. She made it and has to live with, or die with, that choice.

No you don't have to an office, but I think all benefits (including Food Stamps) are now credited to a card (called an Access Card). I think you can use an ATM. You still wouldn't get a lump sum for the month.

Initial checks, replacements, and true emergency situations would generate a check at the office. Office assignment in Phila is generally geographically based, excepting nursing homes. The office need not be in the district.
