PA - Austin Smyers arrested after search for woman heard screaming, McCandless, 2 June 2022

This is creepy. He's not talking and nothing was found but it really sounds suspicious.

"Around 11:46 p.m. Thursday, Police said they were notified by dispatchers that a person nearby heard a woman screaming near the tennis courts."

"Officers attempted to talk with the driver, who was later identified as 31-year-old Austin Smyers of Wexford, according to police documents."

"Smyers was in the driver’s seat leaned back and refused to identify himself or answer any questions, police said."

"A search for a possible victim included several agencies and lasted until about 4 a.m. Police said they searched the creek, lake and surrounding areas, but no one was found."

He sure acted strange enough but I wonder about the scream because I have some children nearby that scream and yell all the time while playing and it’s given me pause before but I’m used to it now. I just wonder if this could have been teens or a little party crowd that was heard?

The park has a curfew starting at dusk so it’s probably not kids but could have definitely been coyotes or other animals. He’s related to a famous musician, so I have a feeling we won’t hear anything else about the situation.
