Barbara J. Torres, who police say was murdered by her husband after she left her job Monday, had filed for divorce. She told officials her husband had threatened her last week at the city home where she was living.

I don't understand why the police say they don't have enough probable cause to search his house.

It’s been two days since Barbara was killed in broad daylight outside in a parking lot behind Wachovia Bank where she worked as a teller. Torres is still on the run.

Something else of interest:

He placed a wedding photograph with a note “Mike and Barbie” Torres. Always and Forever” I Love you in the Reading Eagle Monday.
The ad was published the day police said he shot and killed his 31-year-old bride, Barbara. Some believe the ad was planned.

I have a feeling he's with relativs in FL since he had just gotten back from there right before he killed Barbara.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin tomorrow in York County with opening statements slated for Jan. 26 in Berks County. Jurors are to be bused to Reading from York daily for the trial.

Prosecutors allege that Torres ambushed 32-year-old Barbara West-Torres in a Reading parking lot in September 2005. He was arrested in March 2013 in Italy and extradited after prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty.

The judge sentenced Torres to life without possibility of parole for the murder conviction, but added two and a half to five years in state prison for the conviction of possession of instruments of crime.
