Turn him loose in the general population in jail. Save money on the trial. His mommy goes to jail too.

I cannot wrap my mind around the notion that the little guy's mother had no part in this. She left him with a monster and to me she is culpable.

A woman here left her 7 week old twins (boy and girl) with her ex--the twins' father--and he didn't just kill them--he tortured them to death. Seven Weeks Old those babies were!!

Mother was not charged as it was believed she "has suffered enough in losing her children." But good grief--she had been beaten repeatedly by this man during their relationship and it's why she divorced him. How could she even consider it would be safe to leave helpless little babies with him?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Until these mothers--each and every one of them--are charged when their child is harmed by a boyfriend or whomever, who they know (or should know) is not to be trusted, these atrocities will continue.

Anyone who puts a child in harm's way should be held accountable--even mom. Imo, especially mom.

Courts order the strangest things. She most likely had no choice.

I think it is very dangerous territory to say all mothers whose husband or boyfriend abused their child(ren) should be charged. It woud be nice if criminals operated in a manner that was obvious to people. Unfortunately a good lot of them are very good at hiding what they're up to and they do not look like monsters. And that's exactly why these crimes are so hard to prevent. Most children get abused by someone known/close to them, not strangers. And it's exactly those people whom are trusted with children by their parents. Unfortunately, very rare cases excluded, child abusers and molesters do not radiate that they're dangerous. Would be nice if they did.

As always, all MOO.

I did not say they should all be charged; I said those who know or should know that the perp might be a danger to their child should be charged if they leave their kid with that person and something happens.

IMO, not holding an irresponsible mom (or dad in some cases) culpable is by far more dangerous territory.

From the above link.

He said that police are still investigating and that charges could be filed against Bentley's mother, Mackenzie Peters.

"I don't think she's going to get out of this scot-free," Mr. Goldinger said.

Does PA have the death penalty?

Technically, yes. But the current governor has ordered a moratorium on actually carrying it out.

I'll never, ever in my life be able to comprehend how anyone could be so evil, so cruel to commit such monstrous, heinous acts against other human beings, especially innocent children. Where is it all coming from? I just don't understand it, I never will... and it seems to be happening more and more. I don't know our world anymore, there's so much evil that it's become a stranger to me. That poor, poor baby. :tears:

At this very moment I can't think of a punishment bad enough for this monster.

I never said an irresponsible parent should not be held accountable. Of course they should be. But who decides when someone 'should have known'? What's the criterium for that? That's a way too broad brush to paint with. And it's a good thing we're generally not at risk for that with the way criminal trials work in the US, where evidence is needed. But it does make me wonder about public opinion, and the court of public opinion can do a lot of damage to innocent people.

There has been a lot of information out on the gofundme account - that was first asking for 10k, then pushed it up to 20k after reaching first goal. The account is titled Bentleys Funeral Fund and many people donated under this assumption all funds would go towards that. Now reports are being made left/right in social media that say otherwise. The account was still open and collecting post funeral - yet a day after mom gets arrested, the alleged sister posts on gofundme that all funds are going to be withdrawn now. Maybe a timing coincidence? However, IF those funds are used for the family's defense fund, or anything other than funeral expenses, I wonder if anyone in LE will pay attention and look into it. And then there is this: https://butlercitizen.com/2017/03/3...disturbing-by-a-family-member-that-was-there/ and if you read through the other articles you will hear a lot more about this very sad and sick situation.

some wounds were 72 hours old.......so bio mom MacKenzie Peters knew. JMOO
Rumors around town........sold for drugs?
In court, a forensic pathologist testified about the boy’s final hours. He described bruises on his hips, cuts and bruises on his forehead. Some of the injuries were so severe, the district attorney is seeking the ultimate punishment.

“Tomorrow morning we plan to file aggravating circumstances and seek the death penalty,” said Terri Schultz, the prosecutor on the case.

The pathologist said Miller’s injuries were caused within 72 hours of his death.

Jordan Lambing, 20, is facing a new charge of escape after police said they found out about his plan during a call he made to his grandmother.

According to court papers obtained by Channel 11 News, police said Lambing called his grandmother on March 28 and told her, “I got a note I'm going to show you when you come in and stuff, all right?”

His grandmother responded, "OK. All right. Yeah." Lambing then said, "I can't really talk, you know."

This 'grandmother' is Jordan's not Bentley's. She harbored her daughter and the killer (that are in jail in her home) when they were wanted by court and she knew about their crimes and drug use. Neighbors were afraid all the TIME....
