I found the latest entry by Steve very interesting.
I am wondering Keck did have involvement and it is a conspiracy?

I read the entry on huffcrimeblog. I do have some questions.

Dunn and Keck were supposedly longtime friends. Both allegedly have some criminal history in their backgrounds.
Allegedly Dunn suspects that Brandi has had sex with Keck and it made him angry enough to kill her. Yet he reaches out to Keck to help him cover it up?
He wasn't angry at Keck? It was wrong for his wife to have sex with his friend, but he didn't blame the friend?
And why would Keck become involved? The person he had allegedly been intimate with was dead. And her husband reaches out to him to help cover it up, to become involved in it? And he does?
Why would Keck become involved? Did Dunn have something over on Keck? What could be bad enough that Keck would agree to become involved?
Did Dunn know of some previous crime committed by Keck, and kept quiet about it? Drugs and burglary would carry less of a sentence than an involvement in a murder. It would have had to be something worse than that. Was Keck ever involved in a murder of his own that Dunn knew about?
Or was it a setup between the two, that Keck would romance Brandi and find out if she would sleep around on Dunn? And in the middle of that, something goes wrong? Dunn having set all of this in motion, may have felt that he then had to participate in the coverup, as he was going to be dragged into it anyway?
I am getting totally confused here.

Me too. That scenario does NOT make sense. Not to mention, asking him to be a pallbearer. If a man had sex with your wife the night before she dies, are you going to ask him to be a pallbearer? I think not..

Is money involved? Was there insurance taken out on Brandi? Is there any family inheritance the husband might think he would get after her death?

It would seem for these two men to agree to cover for each other, it would have to be because they know something on each other, as was said before, or they have something to gain from the crime.

Does anybody know about this?

I agree. I just cannot see a person being dumb enough to help their *friend* cover for the murder of their other *friend*.

What struck me as strange was the message that Scott had left on Keck's myspace --- asking him to be a "paul bear", but adding the caveat he'd understand if he didn't want to.

Strange.

Who would refuse to be a pallbearer for a very close and longtime friend? Unless perhaps they felt the person making the request was the murderer of their friend.

The only thing I canthink of about this is what follows: Maybe Scott had confronted Keck about the alleged infidelity, and they had a fight about it. The next day Brandi is dead. In this scenario I can understand why Keck would not want to be a pallbearer, especially if Scott thinks Keck knows Scott murdered her.
 yikes, that was a weird sentence wasn't it?

I didn't think so.

I am not ready to believe any allegations about Brandi. IF anyone looked like they might be unfaithful, it was Scott, with the two women hanging all over him, in the picture he placed on his profile.

Maybe Brandi confronted Scott, after reading Keck's comment to Scott's myspace page, saying he'd hit anything with a "p"!

Okay, I'm reading Steve's blog. There are some REALLY interesting posts on there. There is a ton of speculation on there, but the theme seems pretty clear. Most think Scott did it. Most say he was abusive toward her *verbally and possibly physically. One interesting thing I keep reading, but haven't been able to verify, is that Brandi supposedly called 911 in the middle of the night/early morning and the call was coded as a 'domestic dispute'. That's telling. I will go sleuthing to see if I can find out more about this 911 call.

No lost interest here, just waiting for new.
I'm rather disappointed in the media coverage, but then again there is this team near their area that is going to this big thing called the superbowl, so unfortunately, that seems to be getting precedence :(

I understand the excitement of the game. I am cheering for the Steelers and am not even from anywhere around there. But still! A beautiful young woman was brutally murdered and a family not only lost their house, their furniture, their treasured belongings, photos, memorirs and more to arson but lost their beautiful daughter who they can never replace with virtually no answers. HELP! That is one of many words I'm crying over here. :(

I find it so discouraging that the press seems to be virtually ignoring this. I understand that the Steelers are a big deal right now, but damn. I want to know more about Scott and Brandi. I want to find out if it's true that she called 911 the night/morning of the murder. There are so many rumors flying around, and you just never know what's true or not. If you read Steve's blog, you find that there are "friends" of theirs saying one thing, and then another "friend" comes along to dispute it. It's very odd. I just hope they get the murderer (who I believe is Scott Dunn) and bring him to justice.

Right now I think they are getting the evidence to arrest Scott and keep him in jail.
As far as the lack of press, we had a woman in or area shot and her 3 children found dead. After the initial report nothing until they found a suspect.
We also had a man behead his wife and cut out their child from her dismembered body. It didn't make national news. I don't know what makes a story news compared to others.

There are two ways to look at it. Either football is more importent or you use football as a distraction. The first scenario is nasty the second could be survival or denial.

You're probably right CP. Probably the Survival/denial option. I'm just frustrated at the silence. Hopefully this will not get lost in the shuffle of all our other cases. I'll stay with this one, I want to see the 'ending'.

Hahaha.. that's cool.

I'm staying on this, too; it's just that I don't have any information to add. Is it okay if my name isn't Sheila?

  • #178
I've been trying to keep up with this too...there just doesn't seem to be much info out there about Scott or Brandi...and it is hard to believe the rumors going around because you don't know what is true and what is made up...hopefully something will happen soon and there will be a break in this case!
