The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office claims Williams acquired at least 49 photos and 25 videos of naked, prepubescent boys between May and December 2020.
As the AG's office says in court documents, the child
allegedly included the underage boys performing sex acts on one another, and some of the
included adult men engaging in sex acts with the children.
Previous reporting says that Williams
counseled LGBT youth in Harrisburg.
Williams is reportedly well known in the area as an LGBT activist and community organizer and was even awarded the
2020 Rising Star Award from the LGBT Center of Central PA.
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), which employed Williams as part of GLO Harrisburg, announced on Tuesday it had removed Williams from its employment after learning of the charges.
UPMC’s immediate concern is the health and well-being of our participants who utilize the services provided at GLO. Upon notification of the circumstances surrounding the case, the individual was terminated," UPMC saidin a statement. "We are fully cooperating with authorities throughout the investigation. We have no reason to believe that this individual was at any point alone on the GLO premises with a participant without other staff members present.
The Franklin County Coalition for Progress also
released a statementin regards to Williams's arrest.
It has come to our attention that Brice Williams has been criminally charged by the Franklin County District Attorney. The Franklin County Coalition for Progress board of directors has removed Williams from its board and all programming," the coalition wrote in its statement. "The board supports every person's right to due process. The board strongly condemns all forms of child abuse and exploitation.
An affidavit says Williams claimed at first that he had not downloaded child
, but later admitted to first viewing it in 2014 by use of a messaging app before moving on to using cloud storage platforms like Dropbox, where some of the child
involved in this case was reportedly discovered.
Williams has already been arraigned and taken to the Franklin County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail,
online court records show. Williams has a preliminary hearing scheduled in front of Magisterial District Judge Kristin Nicklas on July 5.
