STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Police have charged a man 18 months after they found a body in a downtown State College garbage can.

Christopher Hampton, 50, is facing charges for allegedly abusing the corpse of his roommate after he overdosed in 2022.

State College Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Oakhurst Lane, College Township on Dec. 15, 2022, after a body was found in a trash can. According to the charges, they found the trash can and the deceased man in a storage building. Police learned the trash can in question had been reported missing the day before.

For context, this is the area where Penn State University's main campus is, but doesn't seem to be related and there are many people who live intl that region unaffiliated with the college.
