RIP, but she made a strange comment when the 29th anniversary of Corey's disappearance was nearing. She said, "I always hope he is safe. It's hard on the family. I'd love to find him, but I don't want to destroy his life." Huh? How would finding Corey destroy his life? That doesn't make sense. Why would she say that? This is another case that doesn't make sense. How could an abductor have gotten him out of the house without anyone knowing? The friend, Alberta, was there the whole time, watching TV. Maybe, as someone else suggested, something happened to Corey before Debbie went to the convenience store to buy pizza (which is weird to do at midnight). All speculation, of course, but something about the official story of Corey's case doesn't sit right. I wish we had answers.

How would finding Corey destroy his life?

If she thinks Corey was abducted to be someone else's child and they raised him with love, finding out your family isn't family and you were a victim of abduction would probably shake your world a bit.

Exactly, this happened with Carlina White. She was taken by a stranger as a baby and when LE located White, her entire world spiraled into chaos.

Corey was only a toddler when he disappeared so if someone took him and raised him as their own, he’d have no memory of his real identity or family.

Corey’s mom probably saw what happens when long term abducted children are located safe and the reunification process begins. She knows that since Corey has been missing for so long, he probably wouldn’t view her as his mother but rather the people who raised him.
