LIVE VIDEO @ 11 A.M.: Corbett Discusses NE Pa. Manhunt

The governor looked like Leslie Nielsen for a minute there.

Had full briefing at command center...
Keep doors, cars locked...
Rugged, rocky terrain, dense woods...
Frein had opportunity to shoot unarmed civilians the night of the ambush but targeted only troopers...
(I can't hear the reporters' questions)
Not bringing in National Guard, not a national emergency, it's a law enforcement matter...

Colonel speaking now:
Utilizing many different types of technology, will not be more specific...
Search area is narrowing...
I do believe we are close to him...

And... that's about all I got from the PC.

Praying for safety for all LE and residents.

Why would Frein be leaving weapons and ammo behind? Is he tiring and trying to lighten the load?

Or did he stash weapons and ammo throughout the woods so that he would have access to them? It is pretty common for survivalists to stash items in different areas so that they will be there if they need them.

State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said Monday that the area in which authorities believe Frein to be hiding - near the border of Pike and Monroe Counties - is growing smaller by the hour as searchers comb through the woods. Credible reports of sightings and other information continue to pour in, Bivens said.

BBM I hope this is true. They've said for days that they are close. I hope they are gradually closing in while wearing him down.

Does anyone know if it is raining in the area now? When popsicle mentioned rain moving into the area, I remembered that the survivalist who killed 3 royal Canadian mounted police in June was finally captured during a heavy rain.

It's blue skies and gorgeous here. He won't have problems with rain for quite a few days according to our weather forecasts. I can't believe this is going on this long.

Didn't they say they were close like a week ago?

Yes. The whole thing now smacks of a "made-for-TV special," or the latest in Reality Shows. I think it is significant that Frein's only known employment history is in the movie/entertainment business. In other words, in the field of simulating reality. Frein is supposed to have been an enthusiastic military simulations--"Mil-Sim"--reenactor. So I wonder if what we are seeing here is a "Pol-Sim"--a police simulation.

New video released Tuesday shows accused cop killer Eric Frein, who is still being hunted by Pennsylvania law enforcement officials, speaking in a documentary reenacting the Vietnam War.

The upcoming documentary, shot four years ago, was obtained by the Today Show and shows Frein showing off his knowledge about military equipment and history.

The 31-year-old suspect identifies himself in the video saying, “I’m Eric Frein. He is then seen smoking a cigarette and wearing aviator sunglasses and green military fatigues in other excerpts.

Frein, who is charged with killing Cpl. Bryon Dickson Sept. 12 and wounding another trooper outside Blooming Grove barracks, amiably explains the reenactment.

RSBM ; Emphasis mine.

Starting to think there may be a different angle than the one the media is pursuing.

Just some comments by various peeps ; but the comments by a poster with the first letter "E" and the last letter "C" sounded like this may have been very personal.(from 5 days ago)

In which case... the public is probably not in as much danger as has been assumed. So, start allowing people to go about their business, like right now ! People are already nervous enough, and you can bet anything out of the ordinary will be called in.

Sorry the abc news.go.com link is wonky.

I agree, it's personal/local/grudge match. Officer wounded in groin/pelvis.

Here is a great map.

D) PA State Police Barracks Blooming Grove

H) General area Frein was hiding in according to news reports. Supposedly the shots were taken from 300 yds.

F) Freins fathers Jeep found at this location

B) Area where EMS tried to set up a landing zone for the EMS helicopter. 911 call states EMS on ground were under fire. Rumors exist that the EMS helicopter was also under fire
