Thoughts and prayers to the survivors of the crash... may the deceased rest in peace ! :(
As if things weren't already bad enough.

Something makes me think Frein's militia group or someone else is helping him , can't believe he's still on the run. If the heat-seeking helo's didn't find him --- maybe a friend picked him up ? If anyone's helping him, I hope they're prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Those poor residents in that area. Just ugh.

Eric Frein remains at large amid intense manhunt

A day after shots were reported fired within a mile of the Barrett Township home Frein shares with his parents, police remained close-mouthed about why the gunshots reportedly heard at 7:15 p.m. Friday led them to believe Frein had returned to his neighborhood. But they were fairly confident he had been spotted.

"They wouldn't have brought all of us here if they weren't pretty sure he was in there, and pretty sure we could catch him," said a trooper at one of many roadblocks.

PSP: Very concerned for the safety of the community & are strongly recommending that people in the affected area stay in their homes (1/2)

PSP: Do not go in to the woods where law enforcement is searching. Frein NOT in custody, determined to find him & bring him to justice (2/2)

PSP lifts "Shelter in Place" order.

Bet those folks are mighty relieved in one way (it means they don't appear to be in imminent danger)...and mighty sad in another (that it was lifted without an arrest).

State police said Saturday that reports of gunfire exchanged with the suspect Friday night were incorrect. A Barrett Township supervisor had reported a firefight.

"No idea where that came from," state police spokeswoman Maria Finn said in an e-mail. "Wasn't PSP with Frein."

Frightening to think that this guy is still on the loose. A lot of resources are being used to search for him. Just how long will they search? If he does have an underground bunker with ample supplies, he could be hidden for months or even longer. But the report of shots fired and earlier reports that LE had him surrounded, make me wonder .... What if LE were closing in and he shot himself? ....Either deep in the woods or in an underground bunker. It must be frustrating (to say the least) for LE to not know whether Frein is even alive at this point. I know they cannot rest easy until they find him. If he has committed suicide, I think it would have given him an evil sense of pleasure knowing he could continue a mind game with LE by letting them believe he was still out there somewhere, alive and armed.

Really? No idea at all? Sorry, but the police are losing all credibility with me.

I read that the canopy of trees is so thick in some areas that the heat-seeking helo can't penetrate it. He could be in a dense part of the forest or even in a cabin. I don't know what type of technology that they have, but the one that I have personally tested all you had to do was hide behind a tree and it wouldn't show up.

This is really like finding a needle in a haystack. There are so many unoccupied cabins and so much ground to cover. I'm sure most cabins have food, and some might even have vehicles. This might take a while.

It reminds me of the Chris Dorner search.

And we all know how that ended. I suspect this search will end the same way.
