COLUMBUS, Ohio -- More information has been released after the arrest of an Ohio woman in the homicide investigation in Cambria County, Pennsylvania that ties her boyfriend to the killings.
Jasmine Browning, 24, was arrested Monday in Columbus, Ohio, as a fugitive from justice in the state of Pennsylvania.
According to a Columbus Police Department spokeswoman, Browning was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police troopers Monday after troopers learned Browning was in Ohio to take care of a traffic citation.
Pennsylvania State Police confirmed the arrest is related to the investigation into the deaths of Damian Staniszewski and James Smith.
Browning is facing charges of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit kidnapping to inflict injury or terror.
According to documents obtained by 6 News, Smith and Staniszewski were reported missing March 28, 2017, and were last seen in Cambria County a day or two before with a large amount of narcotics.
According to court documents, police conducted interviews and said Smith and Staniszewski burglarized a residence on Boyd Street know as a "stash house" that belonged to Browning and her boyfriend.
Police said that the duo stole a large quantity of narcotics, a handgun and roughly $17,000 in cash.
According to the documents, Browning's boyfriend learned that Staniszewski and Smith were responsible for the burglary and had Browning set up a drug deal with the two.
Police said during that drug deal, the duo were taken at gunpoint inside the Boyd Street and were brutally beaten.
Police said the two were continually beaten over the next three to four days by Browning's boyfriend.
According to court documents, Staniszewski and Smith were then taken to a wooded area along Ligonier Pike in Somerset County after Browning's boyfriend became frustrated with them not admitting to the burglary.
Police said at that point Smith tried to run and was shot by Browning's boyfriend, who then shot Stanizewski twice point blank in the face.
Police said the murder weapon was then dumped in a nearby body of water.
