Unbelievable.
Where is this guy, D. Souza ?

If anyone was lax in their duty as far as this perp's escape, the jail needs to be held to accountability as well as the person(s) in charge of him at that time.
Unless it was just a poorly maintained and/or constructed jail ?
Apologies if this is too harsh; but I'm worried for the innocent residents who may accidentally get in his way !

Please... let no one be harmed, either civilians or law enforcement.

My .02 is that they need to monitor dumpsters, etc., outside grocery stores and restaurants; as he'll need to eat !

They caught Eric Rudolph (domestic terrorist) that way ?

For over five years, Rudolph evaded one of the largest manhunts in U.S. history, hiding out in rural North Carolina. In May 2003, Police Officer Jeff Postell spotted Rudolph foraging in a trash bin behind a grocery store and arrested the elusive outlaw.
Red bolding mine.

Omo.

The concentrated circle is around an equestrian farm. Maui Meadows. They should have cameras? Lots of money in horses. Wonder if he sleeps during the day? Would be could easier if they could catch him off guard and asleep.

He really isn't moving much so he must be hiding in one spot most of the 24 hours. Just going from hole to hole along the river/creek. Seems like his strategy was to stay really close to the prison hoping they would look for him farther away. He could have walked miles in that first 19 hours!

There's a press conference on the hour

Are there any railcams at Kennet that might shed some light on his where abouts?
Not likely, the Wilmington & Northern and the Octoraro branches of East Penn Railroad are lightly-used local freight lines, not worth it to have CCTV at the grade crossings nor interesting or frequent enough to have railfan video feeds like along some major rail lines. However, businesses that abut the tracks almost certainly do have cameras, question is if they cover the tracks or not. MOO

NBC10 live

ETA from story:
Classes at the Kennett Consolidated School District in Chester County were canceled again on Wednesday.

"Greenwood Elementary School and several of our communities are currently located within the police search perimeter," wrote Kennett Superintendent Dr. Dusty Blakey in a letter posted to the district's website. "It is out of an abundance of caution that we take this action."

The district had canceled classes for Tuesday as state police told officials that the ongoing search for the convicted killer had "evolved."

Kennett Square's Borough Hall also closed Tuesday due to the ongoing manhunt.

Utter madness how he escaped. A prisoner escaped in May. Cavalcante escaped in the same way between May and last week they put up barbed wire. Tl in the presser and they're going to show the video of his escape.

He scaled the wall horizontally like it was nothing. He had an hour before they realised he wasn't present. Reward is now $20k

How on earth does anyone get through not one, but TWO sets of barbed wire? The warden said after he got past the first set, he ran across the roof and squeezed through another set! Ugh.

That hallway area where he was able to scale upwards should be widened so no one can even attempt to perform that same sort of maneuver. Unbelievable.

They spent more time speaking about the escape and not providing the public with confidence that they think they have him cornered anywhere.

Barbed wire is not going to stop a man who knows he is going in for life. LE should make conclusions and change the layout so it will be more difficult for others.

Just read about escape from Alcatraz. Even from Alcatraz, people escaped! I think, what people stand to lose matters.

He is 5 feet, hurt, maybe already having sepsis, afraid to walk at daytime, follows the rivers but it is getting colder. Probably hungry. Maybe dehydrated. People shouldn't leave guns, food or water out. What is his goal? Move to Ohio and merge with the homeless? He is a tiny Brazilian, speaks with an accent. He will be caught. Or may die of hunger or infection. Post photos across the country, it is not about LE, it is about public danger.

I agree it needs to be widened a bit because he's below average height.

He will die of infection before he dies of hunger.

He will die of infection before he dies of hunger.
Infection is definitely a possibility. If he gets bitten by a tick, he may need medical attention, especially for Lyme or meat allergy.

That is unfortunate, I also hope businesses have some footage to be viewed.

He also appears to have something tucked in the back of his pants if you can watch clear video of his brick wall climb. Folks are suggesting a towel, that he probably wrapped his hands/arms in to get past the razor wire.

A towel makes sense if he was playing basketball, as they indicated he was in today's presser.
