There are so many options for this guy. He has a lead and is resourceful ,but if PA law enforcement system is hiring 18 yr old as prison gaurds and calling them veterans of the prison system , I am concerned, I am not real sure how they train for things like this. I have not one 18 yr old responcible enough to hold a position like that and also to work for LE you gotta be 21 ,so was this correctional officer someones family member who got a good job as a perk for this kid? I dunno but I want to ..
Really 18 working in a prison? I mean..
I believe the prison guard that was put on administrative leave had 18 years of experience.

It's raining there and the light is coming down. He'll be easily found if he took that umbrella!

What time will it get dark?

He's saved again by the rain and darkness, imo. He's probably going to slip away. Why is he still in that area? He could have been long gone by now.

Well, sooner then normal because of the weather, but probably less then an hour to to dark, plus he’s probably in the woods.

Summary of some of the points covered by press conference today

(...)
It was explained Cavalcante was able to slip through the perimeter at some point late Saturday, taking a work vehicle of a nearby business near Longwood Gardens. He then drove to a location near Phoenixville, stopping at a residence of someone he once worked with, attempting to reach that person through a Ring door camera. That person did not respond to Cavalcante and turned the camera footage over to authorities.

(..)

An additional sighting at a residence in Phoenixville happened Saturday, at 10:07 p.m. Cavalcante stopped at a home of another former work associate, asking for help. The person he sought was not there, but a female resident saw him, called a friend, who called local police

(..)

It was also confirmed by Lt. Col. Bivens, Cavalcante's sister has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and is possibly facing deportation.

This is southeastern Pennsylvania, not central. Generalizations about the center of the state aren't as sweepingly applicable out here. I wouldn't say we're anti-immigration, but very anti murderous fugitive on the run in our neighborhoods. I don't think most care that he's Brazilian, but care that he's a danger to anyone he might come in contact with and have forced people to live on edge and in fear for 11 days and counting now.

Thanks for correcting me. (I drove from NJ through PA, and it feels very E-W oriented. I feel that Midwest starts somewhere where "Pennsylvanian Schwartzwald" as I called it would begin). It probably feels very different to you being inside, I am simply thinking of the best way to resolve the issue. I read in the DM that it was believed he wanted to get back to Brazil, I don't know how DM arrived at this idea, but won't be surprised if he, speaking Portuguese and Spanish, would want to get back to South America.

I feel he probably would go W, not E, and likely avoid people, but who knows. I posted it yesterday, that I thought hostages would be his plan, and apparently, the sister of his murdered GF thinks so, too. If blunt pursuing him doesn't work, and it shouldn't, I think the best thing would be to understand what his plan is, and if it is to leave the country, negotiate it. If he survived in Amazonian forests, he'll survive here.

P.S. I heard nothing about K9, I hope the dog survived.

Looking at Brazilian newspapers over the last couple of days, they seem to get most of their news from the US reports.

As regards murder charges in Brazil, Cavalcante is accused of having killed a man who didnt pay him for car repairs by firing 6 shots at him, killing him instantly. He does not appear as having been taken into custody, with reports merely saying that he fled and was never again seen by Brazilian authorities. Apparently has gang connections.

IME this is not unusual, so many knifings and shootings that they are often not even reported on.

As I quoted before, he ended up in Chester County where he has a sister and friends. He worked in civilian construction plus other unspecified jobs.

I cant find a FB account for him (obviously doesnt help that I am not a FB user!)

does anyone understand how he made it throuh razor wire? I suspect he has been through water to eliminate some odor but I also imagine him not really getting much food or sleep. did not hear about the most recent burglery...did they say what was taken?

I know I was thinking about his arms - they have to be infected?

Credit to the State Police colonel for taking responsibility. Accountability does ot always happen.

After he killed his girlfriend, he tried to flee back to Brazil. LE apprehended him in Virginia.

I'd be looking at any contacts he has in Virginia. I'd also be vigilant at the US/Mexican Border. Because of his US arrest, LE has his fingerprints and hopefully DNA.

Hoping he is caught tonight.....

I hope LE has personnel stashed and waiting at his other contact's homes. Maybe part of the reason they are holding his sister is to get more names..?
