I don't understand what happened here. Is the mother an employee of the store? Where is she in these pics? I don't get it.

I reported my 22 year old (now 23) addict son missing within 24 hours of not hearing or seeing him on FB. I don’t understand people. I don’t.
I think I need a WS break. These babies. Everyday. Murdered or missing. It’s just madness. I hope someone safe has this child.

side note: for those who aren't from Philly ( I'm not either). We just dropped our son off for college at Temple. That is his dorm room building right behind the grocery store. School starts tomorrow, so I'm sure the place is packed with kids. I hope the are putting flyers out all around that area.

I was at that store last Wed. I didn't see anyone outside selling water. There was a lady a few blocks up selling water from the middle of the street.

So this woman gave her son to someone who she only knows by his first name and then waited more than 24 hours past the time she was supposed to get him back to call the police?? I am very worried for this little boy.

Cherish Perrywinkle all over again.
There really ARE parents this stupid in the world.
I hope this one has a better ending.

This reminds me of the lady who sent her baby off with a random guy when she was detained for shoplifting.

Police searching for missing 6-year-old last seen at grocery store
Jay was supposed to bring the boy back to the store at 9 p.m. Friday, according to the child's mother. She made several failed attempts to contact Jay, then alerted authorities Saturday at 11 p.m.

Really? He is missing prior to 9pm on Friday since that was when "Jay" was supposed to bring him back to his mother. We don't know the exact time he went with Jay do we? I don't see a time stamp on the pictures of the two of them leaving the store. WTH?

Is there no video or images from outside the store?

It doesn't actually show them leave. IDK something is weird here. Or everything.

I would think there are many cameras considering it is on the Temple University Campus. IMO. I also think this mom may have done this before, possible babysitter situation who knows. also IMO

Comments indicate he was found, nothing official yet.

Philadelphia Police Department
I'm not buying it from someone who's step kid's friend's got a text, lol. Not funny that he's missing, but why do the cruddier witnesses suddenly pop up early in almost every missing person's case? Can they just not help it?

Sadly, the contact number for the police is the SVU, that can't be good.

This is weird. She has 1 flyer and is yelling at people, but she doesn't have any to hand out to anyone. Not sure how that's helping.

That was awkward to watch. Jmo. She should have handed out flyers. People will take them! Don’t yell at them.

That is so sad. The shame is since my son was going to Temple, I had to advice him on street people etc, so I'm sure those students who were going into the store were not only unaware but following parents advice to stay away from these situations. IMO, I wish she wasn't yelling so much but asking calmly for help.
