what was the part about the Mini Cooper actually being a rental car and not PF's car...???? What??? well that was fast! mOO
Or that it didn't belong to RG, but was property of the county? Yeah, I'm not sure.

Police confirmed that it was PEF's car. Further, the supposed rental company may have gotten a tad upset, had the car not been returned. ;)

One of the images referred to the Grove case, which happened in 1997. It was the trial of Douglas Grove for shooting Kitu Sampson. It had no relation to PSU, TSM, or Sandusky.

In that case, I drew comparisons between RFG and the fictional Atticus Finch, from To Kill a Mocking Bird.

Darn, I meant to to screen shots of those. There was some good information in there.

Can someone discuss the woman (IIRC initials BM?) who worked with RG and went missing shortly before he disappeared, then reappeared later?

Some of the stuff seemed like it could be linked, but probably was coincidental. I do believe there was pre planning involved in RG's disappearance. JMO

The sole Bernadette Melville that I could find that lived in PA was not from Centre County, but Blair County. She was a nurses' aide, not an investigator, and I don't know if she was in PA in 2005; she passed away outside of NOLA in 2012.

The Centre County DA's Office, during RFG's tenure through 2017, had no investigators.

That's what I thought, thanks for confirming it. It didn't seem likely that county government would give him a "company car", especially one that was so unique.

Like many government workers, they probably reimbursed him on a per mileage basis for any county/court work that required him to use his own car.

The photo of the BM who passed in Louisiana doesn't fit the description of the woman RG was allegedly seen with at the antique store. She did pass away at a fairly young age - 44.

IDK, it all sounds like its a bit of a stretch. JMO

Well, the woman was white, had long black hair and was good looking. She would have been 36, so possibly the same great age range of "about 40." There are probably 10-20 million people that could fit that description.

This is someone who was clearly not an investigator and possibly not in PA at the time.

The bow and arrow "assault" was a summary charge for firing arrows in their apartment wall. They probably had the charges dropped when they agreed to pay the $700 in damages. It was punishable by a $300 fine. Further, such a minor offense would be unlikely to handled by the DA's Office.

The "Heroin Bust" that she mentioned did take place, but it was not handled by the DA's Office. There was a trial of the ringleader, Taj "Verbal" Lee; he was convicted. RFG's involvement consisted of speaking at a presser, with a number of other DA's from other counties. MTM prosecuted the case for the AG's Office.

A Scott Bergman was also mentioned as a "former coach" charged with something. However, there is no record of a Scott Bergman in Centre County.

Why are there posts that disappeared?
I haven't logged in for a few days and see all this new discussion which looks like it's all related to deleted posts. Did someone post a bunch of things and then delete the post(s) - or did the mods remove the post(s)?

I am not sure of the reasons why they were removed or who did it, except there might have been a copyright infringement for some. It appeared to be parts of Graham Spanier's book.

The poster was wrong about a number of things, and rambling, but I didn't see anything in violation of the rules.

Here is the thing the poster claimed to be an "assault." Penn State players stray from straight and arrow

Summary offenses don't even go to court. My guess is that they offered to pay for damages and the charge was dropped. It was probably not even handled by the DA's Office.

Apologies if this has already been brought up, but is there a recent sketch of how Ray might look today?

Not that I have seen.

destruction of laptop. ?
That's been my theory all along. I was "boots on the ground" in that area a while back and it's just about the perfect place to do it. Shut the phone off so he would not be disturbed.

BTW: The Mini had a vanity plate, "PFO," so it was certainly not a county vehicle or a rental. It was a joke that PEF was "P Fo" like Jennifer Lopez was "J Lo."

So April 15 was a Friday..I would be interested to know if Ray acted "normal" that Monday through Thursday according to Patty and co workers (?) Did he do anything out of the ordinary or say something odd..or did Ray act like his normal self..normal routine..in the days leading up to his disappearance?

I wanted to give you a bit more detailed answer. PEF indicated that he was napping and possibly more. DZ indicated this on CNN:

"Well, there is some evidence from what his girlfriend told us towards the end before he disappeared. He was a little more depressed in the sense that he wasn`t as active as he had been, he was not feeling well, he was taking longer naps, a little more moody."

A reporter who interviewed him on 3/8/05 asked him about the DA's race. He had endorsed MTM in the GOP primary and the reporter, Bill Joseph, asked him about JKA running. This is how Joseph characterized the response:

"I was surprised that the question seemed to stun Gricar, or at least to leave him at a loss. He had been so fluid with his answers about the spring primary. But when asked to look beyond that, he stumbled in getting his toughts into words and never really came up with a coherent answer. The difference was remarkable."

On 3/9/05, court administrator Cheryl Spotts was in a with him and a judge. Here is how she characterized it in a story:

"It just seemed that Ray wasn't with it," Spotts said. "He was just looking around, which kind of shocked me because this was a death-penalty case."

At one point,
[Judge] Brown told Gricar he had two weeks available in October for the trial.

"Ray just turned and looked at the bookcases," Spotts said. "He didn't even look at the judge when he said it.

"He just said, 'I won't be here,' " Spotts said.

JKA wrote:

"I have no doubt that Ray was deeply distraught about something the week of his disappearance. It went well beyond simple busyness or preoccupation."
And:

I was asked [on Saturday, 4/16/05, at about 11:30 AM] if I had noticed anything unusual about Ray's behavior that week, and told him that Ray had seemed distraught about something earlier that week. I was told that he [Officer Darryl Zaccagni] had already talked to various other staff members before calling me and that "everyone is telling me [Officer Zaccagni] the same thing".

The people at Prison Board Meeting of 4/14/05 described his as, "There physically but not mentally." "Staring out the window." "Mumbling answers."

Now the first two may be coincidence. RFG may have been taken by surprise JKA was running; he had endorsed MTM. His birthday was in October, and he generally took his vacation at that time. These others do not have the same explanation.

I think that things like demeanor are the reason why a lot of people in Centre County dismiss foul play. They are consistent with suicide or, to a lesser extent, walkaway. Both are voluntary.

Do you give any credibility to Rebecca knight claiming that the second mile finances were in the Ray gricer case files in the early years of the investigation and then removed somewhere down the line

As far as I know, she did not claim that.
