Beth Jean Dixon, 63, put her holstered pistol on a toilet tank when she used the unisex, one-toilet bathroom Aug. 25 at Cumberland Christian School, in Chambersburg, police said. They said she forgot about it and left.

Four children, ages 6 to 8, used the bathroom while the gun was on the toilet. One child told his parent, who told a teacher.

Why would a teacher feel the need to carry a gun with her into the bathroom? And this was a Christian school. BTW, Dixon resigned.

Complacency regarding guns will kill and has killed a comparable number of US citizens as those purposely aiming and firing a gun. This is no different than kids finding guns lying on the back seat/floor of cars their parents place them in, the kitchen/living room table the parents provide etc and firing it. Jmo.

Glad no one was hurt - this time.

Dixon has been charged with crimes including reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of children.

Good.
