Self-reporting so that we can get some guidance on whether we can treat SC as a POI per TOS at this time.

We know that:

1) SC is reported to be the last person to see BC alive.

2) BC’s NAMUS entry, entered by Bucks County Detectives, indicates that no one other than her husband has seen her alive since the evening before she went missing, so her disappearance may have occurred the evening before his alleged last sighting.

3) BC was reported missing by her daughter, not SC, who lives with her.

4) SC is in the custody of the Bucks County Corrections facility since the early hours of today.

5) SC was absent from the corrections facility throughout the day today and was returned this afternoon. This time period corresponds to the presence of an inmate where remains were found close to the Philadelphia Airport.

6) The home of SC and BC is being searched and treated as a crime scene.

7) Presser not to take place until sometime next week. Charges should come sooner.

Can we treat SC as a POI?

He has been identified by TV News, and was wearing an Orange Jumpsuit while showing LE where some body parts were/are. Apparently he was in court this morning, having been taken into custody last night(thurs) at his home, where heavy LE presence was, and they also took a car from the house as well.

An excuse from the husband, trying to put the blame on the victim. He also had a 'friend' spout on Facebook that she was having an affair...I'd bet the other way around. He did everything to distract attention from himself. I hope their daughter has the support she needs to get through this, as the trial will be very difficult I fear.

The husband of a missing woman from Bucks County on Friday led police to a location where human remains were found, sources told NBC10.

The sources said 55-year-old Elizabeth “Beth” Capaldi’s husband, Stephen Capaldi, was taken into custody Thursday and led police to the remains the next day. The remains, found near Philadelphia International Airport, have not been officially identified as those of Elizabeth Capaldi.

Capaldi was last seen at her Sellersville home where she lived with her husband near the intersection of High and E. Church streets back on Oct. 10. On Friday, crime scene investigators spent several hours searching the home and the property behind it. They brought along cadaver dogs.

That would save her family bit of grief then I hope. Trials are very hard, as every tiny detail gets in the press. Pleading Guilty in Arraignment is highly unusual, and in some states would not be allowed in a First Degree Murder case. He will be charged with a number of offences on top of whatever Murder charge they choose.

A defendant can plead guilty any time they are before the court and once they have been arraigned. With a serious crime like murder, most judges will refuse to accept a guilty plea at arraignment. At this early stage of the proceeding, very little is known about the case. There is almost always a not guilty plea at arraignment in order to get the ball rolling. Then counsel will be appointed (or retained) for the defendant and the discovery and investigative processes will begin whereby the prosecution has to share its evidence with the defense, the defense begins an investigation, and the prosecution continues theirs.
With a few odd factual scenario exceptions, it is virtually malpractice for a defense attorney to recommend that their client plead guilty at arraignment - especially to a serious crime. It may very well be that a plea is the best resolution to the case, but an attorney can’t make that decision until much more is known about the case.
Once a guilty plea is entered, however, the case proceeds to sentencing. Usually, when there is a plea, it’s part of a bargained for agreement between the prosecution and the defense (and approved by the court) for a specific sentence, so everyone knows what the sentence is going to be. Sometimes it may be for a range of possible sentences depending on a probation report or other factors. Prayers for Beth’s daughter.

Cases where you know it’s the husband and he’s out there running around free are always upsetting to me. This is like another local case where the husband moved to another state. It’s frustrating when LE doesn’t have enough evidence.

Circumstances of Disappearance
This agency is assisting the Perkasie Borough Police Department with a missing persons investigation, wherein an adult woman has not been seen nor heard from since October 10, 2022 (possibly the evening of October 9, 2022). She left her vehicle, electronics and other personal items behind. Per her husband, there is $13,000.00 in cash missing from the residence.
