Deceased/Not Found PA - Elizabeth “Beth” Capaldi, 55, last seen by husband, phone & car left behind, Sellersville, Bucks Co, 10 Oct 2022

Thinking again about the house and neighborhood, I have to believe that Beth was “disappeared” in some way that would not attract attention in the form of unusual noise or physical activity, as I think that would be noticed.

Could she have been sedated and strangled? Removed from the house in luggage or a trunk of some sort? If SC often packed artwork or boxes of comics, moving packages would have seemed normal. And what about any clean up… Did the neighbors smell bleach at some point?

If she ended up at the PHL location, her remains were removed there in some form or fashion.

Reminiscent of Kortne Stouffer.

is Steve 12+ years younger than Beth?
I don’t believe so. And if so why would that matter. They have been together a very long time possibly since high school or soon after.

I swear he mentioned a suitcase mentioned. I always thought she never left the house alive. We have to wait for the press conference but media has reported body parts in more than one location. I could be wrong but that’s what some of our media is reporting so she was dismembered. And he worked for UPS which is across the street were they found partial remains

These houses all have sewer connections (I looked it up), so they have vents from which such smells can be smelled by passersby (not all the mushroom vent stacks are visible from streetview, or else they are the flat kind with holes or slots which are hidden behind plantings). This is in addition to the possibility of the next door neighbors smelling something through the walls.

This is getting sadder by the post.

Alright boys and girls, here are the posts I was referencing. Just read these with our new context. I was laughing hard at the time, because it was so obvious.
My favorite was "Please take a deep breath. Calm yourselves."

Seriously dude? Your wife has been missing for weeks, but really, why would I worry? Why would anyone worry?

These narcs like him, Frazee, Watts are all cut from the same cloth - they have discarded the person, and cannot understand what the fuss is all about, since they have no conception or understanding of real love and friendship and that people care about the missing individuals. They always seem to be shocked when people start looking for them, and wondering what happened, and that includes law enforcement.

Imagine what it must be like to spend years married to someone like that. Or have such a parent. Would you eventually realize deep down they feel no connections to others?
I wonder if she was about to leave the marriage. Maybe she was ready to leave, she had a good reason to, and he didn't want it revealed? Speculation/my opinion only.

So this idiot who brings a stain upon us with the name Steve is being held in police custody but hasn't been charged with anything yet. I?n't there a limit as to how long they can hold him without charging him? I want to say 48 or 72 hours, but either way, we have to be approaching that deadline.

This case reminds me of the missing Cheryl Coker (Ohio), right down to the missing cash. No arrests in that 2018 case.

Philadelphia TV News shows showed video of him in an orange jumpsuit, with INMATE printed on he back, leading LE to at least one site where a body(part) was discovered. The area is where a UPS Depot is, and he worked as a driver for UPS.

This article from the local press features a Facebook post by Beth’s daughter. It reads in part:

“My beautiful mother is gone from this world. She made me who I am. She touched so many people. The video at the end makes me smile every time I watch it.

She loved chocolate chip cookies, so have one if you can.”

It goes onto mention a fundraiser for this young woman who has now lost both her parents. I am mindful of the WS Terms of Service and won’t link to it but the text there says:

“On October 10, 2022 Elizabeth Capaldi went missing. 8 weeks later our worst fears were realized as word spread that her husband, Stephen, was in custody and led investigators to her remains. This tragedy left their daughter, Emma, without either of her parents. This FUNDRAISER EDITED BY ME is for her and for whatever she may need. May the whole family find a little peace and healing.May the whole family find a little peace and healing.”

Sharing all this to say that it seems charges against SC are imminent as the family already knows the sad truth.

I’m wondering if the detention without charges has to do with a plea agreement. Supposing SC agreed to a plea, an autopsy may have to be completed to corroborate his story and the associated charges with which he agreed.

I’m not in the legal field, so I don’t know whether one can be voluntarily detained, but maybe one of our WS attorneys can share some wisdom on this situation. @Allabouttrial , we are in PA here, can you shed any light?

All imo.

ETA: He was booked at 1:26am on 12/9.

I can't understand why he did this. Was he having an affair? Was he after life insurance? Was he doing something illegal that she uncovered? I just don't get it.

I did not know instagram links were allowed here. This is Stephen Capaldi's https://www.instagram.com/brothers_records_more_llc/

I found it interesting that he has two signatures on every painting like there's a Stephen and a Steve with the devil tail and halo doodles.

I inquired about charges/presser from the DA’s office and received this:

“Thank you for contacting us. We are not able to provide any updates at this time, though a news conference is being planned for later this week. Information on charges will be announced at that time. Have a great evening.

Steve Doerner, MS
Chief Administrator
Bucks County District Attorney’s Office
Office: 215-348-6241”

So, no charges till presser.

It's probably a huge amount of work for them and they want to everything done right.

Probably just tired of her, as she may have been of him. A seemingly "voluntary disappearance" is cheaper than divorce, if you can pull it off.

As far as nursing home expenses: The individual has to 'spend down' their assets to $2,000. and then Medicaid usually takes over payment.
Medicaid will not impoverish a spouse living is the home, they are allowed to keep $100,000.
