GUILTY PA - Ellen Robb, 49, beaten to death, Montgomery County, 22 Dec 2006

  • #121
You could be right Lisa, and it will be interesting to read a psycological evaluation of him.

That is beyond bizarre what he said! Do you think he might be trying to show he is mentally of unsound mind?

Any news on an arrest? It's 4pm on the east coast, and I wonder why they didn't effect an arrest today. I think his attorney was pi**ed on Shep's show. He has to defend this lame cruel man he has to know is the picture of guilt, and I don't think he liked being put on the spot to deliver info by noon to show his client couldn't have killed her. Did anyone just hear the interview Shepard Smith did with Genovese (sp), Mr. Robb's lawyer ? He is railing the prosecutor Castor and saying he is basically the equivalent of Nifong by calling Robb a suspect.

So I quess this is the new mantra of defense attorney's ?
Oh great! Thank you Mr. "I will advance my career even on the backs of three innocent people" Nifong. Now you have given the crappy defense attorneys out there more ammo and have made life harder the the many truly good and honest DA's out there. As a lifelong NC resident I say  to Nifong and when you get disbarred and lose your job please take your worthless 🤬🤬🤬 somewhere, anywhere I don't care as long as its out of my state!!!!! ummmm....not that I really have any strong opinion on the man...

Looks like my hunch was right about the money. Olivia told the police that her mom was expecting to get alot of money because Rafael had stashed it overseas:

Also, the burglary angle is made less likely by the fact that there was a car in the driveway, whereas the house next door was obviously vacant and there was a package sitting outside.

Tell us how you really feel Curious 1 :D . I certainly don't disagree with you and hope that N leaves the country period.

I couldn't believe this defense lawyer was going all crazy while he is on tv spouting off - I quess it is okay for the defense team to do that. I am however entirely po'd that defense lawyers would now start to take this tack on a national news show. Hope this is not going to be the trend now. Incredible. On this same show I saw a quick clip from Ellen Robb's funeral and could not believe what I saw. Amazing !

The biography of Mr. Genovese, from his firm's home page:

Marino and current District Attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr., as Captain of the Major Crimes Trial Unit. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Genovese prosecuted thousands of cases, ranging in seriousness from Misdemeanor Offenses to Homicides.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Genovese’s primary area of practice has naturally become Criminal Defense. Mr. Genovese represents Criminal Defendants before the Commonwealth’s Courts of Common Pleas and Appellate Courts, as well as United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Montgomery County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and serves as an Attorney on the Criminal Justice Act Panel in Federal Court. Mr. Genovese is also one of the first Criminal Defense Attorneys in Montgomery County to become Certified Defense Counsel in Capital Cases under the new Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure.

In areas related to Criminal Defense, Mr. Genovese also litigates Petitions under the Post Conviction Relief Act and defends individuals charged with offenses under the Domestic Relations Act, the Juvenile Act and the Motor Vehicle Code. When was it and where can I find it online? I thought I was diligent with this..........my fear now is that Olivia is with a very unstable person.

Please shed more light on this for the benefit of those of us who didn't see this show. What did you see in the funeral footage?

Lisafremont - I'm sorry - I figured you had all seen it already! :banghead:

The footage showed Ellen's casket being carried into a church - Mr. Robb was the only one not in a suit and he had one hand on the casket and was carrying a drink of something in the other. That was it ! He was a pall bearer...

Maybe the others saw it, but I didn't! Wow! No suit? Carrying a DRINK?
You're right. That is amazing. I suppose his neon sign that reads

GUILTY!! LOOK AT THE PERP!!!

was broken. Otherwise he would have been wearing that.

CC will be discussing this case today.

I am beginning to think this creep is a nut-job. Not criminally insane but a weirdo.

Why doesn't he just turn himself in?

IMO

Considering he is academia - the no suit thing didn't bother me. But carrying a drink was something I don't recall ever seeing before when someone is a pall bearer. Wierd.

Which cemetary? I might stop by and pay respects.

Thanks, Curious. The keyboard on my laptop is still broken but I post at work or steal hubby's sometimes. You might also notice that sometimes I can do a whole post without a "Y" word. Takes some tricky substitutions sometimes...gotta get that thing fixed.

The timing of the arrest may require some cooperation with Olivia's uncle. Once the arrest is made, there is going to be some manuevering over things such as whether he gets released on bail, whether the uncle will file an emergency petition for temporary custody, whether Robb with have to submit to a psych evaluation, etc. If Robb wants to get bail and keep his daughter, he won't do anything deliberately to make himself look unsound.

Genovese can't be surprised by the way things are going - he used to work for Castor. Probably played exactly the same game on the other side.

Luthersmama, how do you know that about the uncle? I haven't heard that. My greatest concern now is Olivia's safety.

On CC tonite, Genovese said that RR was hospitalized with panic attacks after the murder. Really?
