"the daughter of this crazy minister" never stood a chance. she must have been brainwashed since birth and is a product of her upbringing. she's to be pitied for the pathetic human being she is. :(

Anyone who is a baptist should be hammering the baptist convention to make sure these people are not charter members and to make sure they receive nothing from the national convention. The president of the baptist convention needs to come out and make a very public statement that these people do not represent the baptist faith in any way. I have been dumbfounded by the collective silence of the baptist church in this matter.
I am not a baptist, but I guaruntee that if these people called themselves catholic or presbyterian or methodist someone somewhere would be screaming "no way, these people don't represent us!"
The cry of millions of baptists in this united states of america should be loud and deafening.
No kidding! I am also shocked, I have never heard of this group, but I can tell you, no baptist I know hates ANYONE, and this is just terrible behavior. This is a horrible cult, not baptist, that is just a front, IMO.

I don't like Fox, but they have done a good deed this time. I noticed that the air time is radio instead of tv. That is also good.
i was about to write that exact statement....great job fox

Okay, sorry I got so bothered by the comment. It just seemed like you were pointing out the fact that he was homeschooled, like it is some evil thing. There was a situation here in Indiana in the past year where some young man and his girlfriend ran off and got into some major problems with the law. The one thing the news kept saying over and over was the fact that he was homeschooled. I have met homeschooled kids who are the most well adjusted kids I know, and I have met kids who attend the public schools, and they are social misfits. (Take a look at the killers of the Columbine killing...both of them attended the school there, but they were still social "outcasts").

My heart goes out to the victims of another senseless tragedy here. I imagine the Amish community must be shocked beyond all belief in how their world has been forever changed.

youre opinion.but homeschooling is not best for everyone.heres a link for ya..http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0006/02/cf.00.html

As to why I searched his sight, it was to see what convoluted, assinine, off the wall reason he could come up with to justify protesting this funeral. I wasn't fully aware of his hatred for the Pennsylvania governor.

We all need to be aware of groups like this. IMO, this so-called Baptist church is nothing but a cult.

They bargained with Fox News for one hour of air time in exchange for promising not to protest at the funerals.
I love FOX and if this is what they did.......I LOVE them more.
Don't forget they have Americas Most Wanted ,and they came through for us with a missing one, in an instant. All of their News people and shows do a great job. If this works then more power to them.......Love You Fox!

Well, public education doesn't seem to be the answer for all the world's problems either.

If people are screwed up in the head, they are screwed up in the head. It doesn't matter if they are publically educated or if they are homeschooled. If they are going to snap, they are going to snap.

The question at hand now is how to protect ALL of our children...public, private, and homeschooled.

I just heard on Abc Evening News that one of the Families of one of the little girls has reached out and invited the Family of the shooter to attend the funeral and grieve with them.

So much faith, trust and compassion. I am impressed and moved beyond words.

I am not surprised. The Amish are not vengeful. I had read that a member of the Amish community has already visited with the wife of the shooter to comfort her.

One of these days Fred and his daughter Shirley (Phelps) are going to meet up with the God whose opinions and name they throw around so freely, and it is not going to be a pretty sight...

Yeah, that will be quite the shock for that bunch. And it will be just a little too late for explaining things then! :furious:

I have heard several times on FOX news this morning that another child has been removed from life support. They are saying that the family is taking her home to die. I cannot find a link to this information. I know there was a mention of this yesterday too.

Girl to Be Taken Off Life Support

As the Amish gathered Thursday to bury four of the five young girls who were shot to death inside their Lancaster County schoolhouse this week, one of the five girls injured in the shootings was being taken off life support to come home to die.

<snip>

The country coroner, G. Gary Kirchner, said he was contacted Tuesday by a doctor at Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey who said doctors were planning to take one victim off life support so that she could be brought home. He said he was told Dr. D. Holmes Morton, who runs a clinic that serves Amish children, would be the clinician in charge.

Morton said Thursday that published reports that a 6-year-old had been taken off life-support and taken home to die were accurate "as far as I know."

I edited my post above after finding an article and link.
So sad that another little girl is going to die.

Shadow, I thought they said 1 was taken off life support yesterday to be taken home. Then 1 was taken home today but I may of been mistaken. Was that your understanding too? Could be the same child.

Just a simple question...I read in one of the articles that a boy was riding a bike, but the pedals were removed and therefore he was basically pushing it along. Can someone tell me what the Amish belief or rationale for removing pedals is? I was just curious.

Someone mentioned this earlier, wondering if any were related, I'm not sure if someone answered that question, sadly, yes, I see on CNN article 2 sisters, Mary Liz Miller, 8; and her sister Lena Miller, 7, will be buried today :( This poor family, losing 2 daughters at one time, I can't even begin to imagine losing one, but two. This is a sad day for everyone.

Here I go quoting myself again. I wanted to bring these obits back to the top of the thread. If you click on the link under each one you can read or sign the guest books.

cheko1, in answer to your question, from what I can find, it looks like it is the same little girl.
