GUILTY PA - Four mentally disabled people held captive in Philly dungeon, 2011

  • #141
It just doesn't stop....

On Thursday, a Family Court judge ordered DNA testing to ascertain the children's lineage.
They include three teenagers claimed by Weston, and a 3-year-old born to her 17-year-old daughter; McIntosh's two young children; and Breeden's children, reportedly fathered by one of the three men with whom she was held captive.

The investigation now spans six states - Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia - where Weston, Gregory, and Wright may have lived with their alleged captives, or where those victims may have originated.
Police are looking not only for trails of existing victims, but also for evidence of other victims who may not have survived. A Philadelphia woman, Maxine Lee, is known to have died in 2008 while sharing an apartment with Weston in Norfolk, Va. An autopsy ruled that she died of natural causes. The Philadelphia Daily News on Friday quoted Gregory Thomas' mother as remembering another woman who died while living with Weston and Thomas in the city's Lawncrest section

OH carp! I can see the insanity defense as I type. :mad:

Seriously, this woman knows how to play the system. We saw how evil these people are with JD in the Groene case. She isn't insane, she's 'DIABOLICAL!'

This wasn't the work of a crazy person. It was the work of a MAD WOMAN!

PS: This article says TWO disabled women! Ehhh, this was just BEFORE they got to Philly. So,.............WHERE is the 2nd woman!?????:confused:

Neighbors: 'Commotion' filled Philadelphia trio's West Palm Beach houses, yards

WEST PALM BEACH

Weston appeared to rule the household, which included two pre-school age children, two teenage girls, as many as four mentally disabled men and two mentally disabled women, Clarke said. Weston would curse at her charges and call them names. Wright, who was called "pastor," was always busy, bringing his white van home each night filled with goods, said Julie Hyatt, who lives on 52nd Street across from the house they rented from late last year until June.

Some of the goods - stereos, TVs, chairs, mattresses and other items - they would sell on the street in front of the house. Other items littered the yard

Hyatt said she once confronted Weston about both the daily sidewalk sales and the junk that was piling up. Initially, she said, Weston was combative, but then conciliatory, agreeing to hold the sales only on weekends.

"She spoke very eloquently," Hyatt remembered. "She's very tall, so she's kind of intimidating."

The sidewalk sales continued when the family left the 52nd Street house in June after trashing it and moved to 44th Street. Clarke remembered Wright constantly bringing in items, but she said Weston did so as well. Clothes with the tags still on and wheelchairs, canes, walkers and other items used by the disabled were among the items up for sale, she said.

When she told Thomas she believed Weston was running a business, he confirmed it. "She's got so many businesses in Texas, Virginia, Philadelphia " Clarke said of places Thomas ticked off. The stops match the.

Philadelphia abuse victims were seen in West Palm Beach

A frail woman, who has been identified as Tamara Breeden, was dropped off at a dingy apartment complex at 2915 Broadway early each morning and spent her days watching over an ongoing sidewalk sale that, for the most part, featured smelly used clothes, residents of the building said Friday.

Vernica Clarke, who lives 15 blocks north, is equally convinced that she saw Breeden along with two men who were rescued from the Philadelphia basement. Derwin McLemire and Herbert Knowles, along with Breeden, were among the strange mishmash of at least a dozen people Clarke said lived in the house next to hers on 44th Street from June until they all left earlier this month.

The landlord of the Broadway complex said Weston rented two units - one for a 20-something man she called her son and one for herself in February. The son, who went by the name of Cory Bryant, lived alone, said the landlord who identified himself only as Steve.

However, records at Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control show it received complaints from the complex about Bryant's treatment of dogs as late as May 17. Four dogs had to be euthanized, said Dianne Sauve, director of the county agency. On June 23, she said, the landlord called complaining that Bryant had left two pit bulls behind when he moved out and wanted the agency to remove them.

On July 30, the agency received another call, this one about a dead pit bull. Neighbors told the officer, "I bet that dog's Cory's," Sauve said. By then, the family had begun creating chaos on 44th Street.

Pit bulls and sidewalk sales were the traveling household's trademarks. Residents on both 52nd Street and at the Broadway complex talk about the group's mangy, mistreated dogs.

Lisa Weston is known to have at least eight children.

Two of her grown children are defending their mother. Never had a problem. That would be Gregory Thomas, Jr. and Joseph McIntosh. McIntosh now aged 29 said they were all in the system which meant him and three other siblings which he names in this article. DHS gave them right back after Lisa Weston was paroled because the relatives who took them in abused them.

http://articles.philly.com/2011-10-21/news/30305465_1_dhs-family-court-murder-case

Incest, fire starting, and chaos is what this article describes.

My question is how did Lisa Weston's mother die at such a young age?

Warning article goes into how she pimped out her own sisters and beat kids senseless.

As far as libraries go if that rang true here in Philly as well that would have been as simple as walking smack around the corner from Longshore Street. We have a lovely small Carnegie library right there. In the Northeast they'd have had to walk about maybe eight blocks to the main big library which is always crowded.

JMO but all these people yammering about how they rented to this lady and she was crazy and her boyfriend was crazy, but ohhhhhhhh they don't check on their tenants. Nope. Meanwhile long time residents get to live with crazed lunatics who hurt other human beings and are fearful to call police. Sorry for that rant. Close to home.

The two men defended their mother. Gregory Jr. said Weston hadn't mistreated him. He refuted claims by police that the children in Weston's care appeared malnourished. "We were eating," he said.

Must be psycho to defend that woman.. and THEY are trying to get custody of their younger siblings.. I PRAY with all my heart a family court judge gets those kids as far away from that crazy clan as possible!!

~~~~Bolded by me
Gregory Thomas, Jr. was reportedly the boyfriend of Benita Rodriguez, the young teen girl who went missing from Florida in July of this year, and was found with the other juveniles that Weston was controlling.
I find it REALLY hard to believe that Thomas, Jr. had no idea what was going on with these souls.
Philadelphia family has hope raised that Edwin Sanabria is their son/brother.
Missing since he was 18 years old and missing for 14 years Sanabria also collected SSI. His brother who is stationed at Fort Bragg was given leave to come help his father determine if indeed it is their long lost son/brother.
Prayers for this family that this may indeed be their loved one.
I hope that Sgt. Sanabria is able to provide verification that it is his brother.
If it is him, that means she most likely had him before she went to prison. So someone had to be caring for him while she was in prison.
Thomas said she was told that another woman died under Weston's care about six years ago when her son and Weston were living near Rising Sun Avenue and Adams.
"Gregory told me an old white woman was in the basement, lying on a chair and was as white as a ghost," Thomas said.
She asked Weston what had happened. "She told me, 'Oh, she just died
. They're investigating it.' "
Weston immediately moved out, she said.
Gregory Jr. and his half-brother, Joseph McIntosh, went to Family Court yesterday seeking custody of their siblings. McIntosh, who works as an assistant manager at a McDonald's in West Philadelphia, and his older brother, James McIntosh, a 30-year-old truck driver, have a house big enough to fit the family, Joseph McIntosh said.
<snip>
Gregory Jr. said he had been living at the apartment building on Longshore Avenue in Tacony for a few weeks and knew about the people in the sub-basement. They weren't being held against their will, he said.
"I know they had sense," Gregory Jr. said. "They could have yelled or screamed and said, 'Help! Help!' but they didn't."
When asked about B, Gregory Jr. said, "I didn't even know she was in the closet."
<snip>
"She was happy to come with my mom because her own mom was mistreating her," Gregory Jr. said, adding that Vicky wanted to prostitute B out to get money for drugs.
When asked if his mother abused B, Gregory Jr. said, "Not that I know of. If she did, I never saw it."
Um . . . Yeah, he seems pretty on the ball, lets give him custody of his siblings. I'm sure that will work out beautifully. [not even thinly veiled sarcasm]
"They weren't being held against their will." --Gregory Thomas, Jr.
I would like to know what he thinks it means for someone to be chained to a pipe and locked inside a room with no access to the outside world.
This just keeps getting better and better (not) It seems that Weston was in violation of her parole from the murder of Ramos. And parole authorities never caught up with her. Here is their explanation:
From the link:
"Sometimes (parole violators) get out there and go underground, and as long as they behave themselves and don't do anything that comes to the attention of authorities, we have a hard time finding them," Dunn said.
Except we know that LW did come to the attention of LE. She came to their attention when people died in her care. She came to the attention of LE when neighbors made complaints against her. So by Dunn's words above I can only assume he means she would end up back in prison and he would find out then?
Sadly I am seeing some signs that LE has been more or less ignoring possible problems with LW. And not just in one state. People accuse her of kidnapping their disabled relatives, and there is no evidence that any attempt was made to look for them. People died in her care, it is put down to natural causes, even though there is no sign that she was a licensed caregiver, and even though there are multiple neighbor complaints against her. LW apparently moves to avoid any possible investigations and LE just writes it off.
They said that she resided there with Thomas, eight children who she said were hers, two Hispanic girls, a Hispanic boy and Maxine Lee, who was in Weston's charge
