Wonder if CD owed someone a load of money and was willing to rob and kill his friends to avoid the same fate, or if he was playing a violent video game in real life.

But he didn't. I find that part of this story odd. Not only did he not buy the car, he walked away unscathed and was not robbed. I think there is much more to this KBM "story" that we will ever know... It just makes no sense.

This kid was suspicious and could've easily said something to CD about other people knowing he was looking at the car, and who was selling it. He became suspicious and knew something was up. CD probably knew he couldn't get away with killing another since everyone was looking for the four other boys already. Too risky for him to get caught.

And in that moment he curbed his impulse. Hmmmmm

I was a huge pothead back in the day. You know what it made me? Certainly not an honor student or star athlete. It made me unmotivated & gave me zero ambition.

I have to say, in my own experience as a "stoner" who smokes (legally I might add) almost every single day, it has not made me unmotivated. I've seen that happen to many people, yes, but not all. I have a full time salaried job and regularly contribute writing to one of the countries largest bridal magazines. I have plenty of ambitions.

I'm just saying we shouldn't cast judgement on the victims for smoking pot. After all it IS legal in several states (and counting) and there are plenty of people who use it responsibly to relax, relieve pain, etc. etc.

I just can't keep up with the threads. Anyone gracious enough to tell me what you fine sleuthers have found out about the cousin/accomplice?

Probably thinks he will be having another steak dinner from Del Friscos in the mental hospital.

OMG!! AND a nice bed!!!

This comment is prescient

Thank you so much for sharing what is an oil tank because I had no idea. I used google translate extensively but could not understand how bodies could fit in such a thing. Really such a despicable crime, I cannot believe what these boys have done without seemingly blinking an eye. :(

So what does everyone think? After reading SK affidavit, it appears that he doesn't admit to shooting any of them. Just being present. Which one is lying?

Honestly it seems CD was hungry to kill. But why would SK even be there?

I highly doubt this rich kid needed cash, and so many people have alleged he talked about killing people all the time. I truly believe he was doing thrill kills
I think people are over thinking this too hard looking for reasons. It's really simple I believe CD had fantasized about this so he set JP up under false pretenses to buy pot. His story is so ridiculous I dont believe it. I think after he killed JP he got a big high, thrill, excitement from it and felt empowered maybe it fulfilled a sexual gratification he never felt before as I have read this from other serial killers. He enjoyed it so much he kept killing until he and the farm were under an umbrella of suspicion. He brought SK along as he was already a criminal and knew he woukd be up for it or perhaps he would be someone to blame if he got caught. IMHO

I think once CD got started he would have killed many more if he hadn't been caught. These two are monsters. This is like reading a scary Stephen King Novel, seriously creepy. I had nightmares last night.

when I first read this story and saw where one of the cars had been offered up for sale I thought how stupid can a killer be to list a car for sale that he just murdered the owner? That will get you caught in a New York minute. How did the potential buyer know about this car for sale? Did CD run a craigslist or something? Sorry im fuzzy on that detail

So Kratz confessed without an attorney present? I hope this doesn't screw up the confession

It would only hurt if Kratz asked for an attorney, or intimated he wanted one, and they let him keep talking. I can't imagine that this guy wasn't properly mirandized under these circumstances.

But I do believe his version of events will continue to differ from CD's. And if Kratz is only guilty of "felony murder", in PA this is a second degree murder offense, not first degree.

I have the same question. I'm guessing there is more to the story and it's about money. But that then begs the question "money from whom?"

My opinion is that Jimi (who, turns out, was a friend of a friend. Small world.) wanted 4oz. When people text a dealer, they don't say "may I please have 4oz of marijuana? I will pay you $800 for the marijuana". They text "u got 4?" and receive a response "yup. do 4 for 8" or something like that. It wouldn't be so difficult to get confused if the dealer sells by QP and the buyer only remembers him selling by the oz.

Most dealers don't keep 4lb hanging around the house, though: too much risk (being robbed, house catch on fire, being raided, etc), and it's better to leave that risk with the distributor that they are working with. If, IF we take CD's version, he would have had to order 4lb. That's a big order, and pricey. Pricey enough that most people would get that on credit, meaning he would need to come up with probably $6k to pay for it, or ask nicely to return most of it (and look like a fool in the process). That's not motive for murder for most people, but for somebody with impulse control issues, and potentially on the new synthetic drugs, that could easily push them over the edge.

Just my opinion, but the first domino to fall could have been the result of a misunderstanding. Combined with synthetic drugs (that have caused people to literally try to eat strangers, mind you), and who knows what could happen.

ITA, I also believe that CD brought SK in on it so he could share what he did with someone else. IMO
