Was doing a google search of the area and noted lots of little roads going off the main road that seemed to end in empty turnarounds. Finally figured it out when I saw the unmistakable shadow of small oil well pumps in some of them. That is a little town in the middle of nowhere with miles of woods in every direction. A search nightmare.

If regional SAR, Fire or LE is reviewing this thread, I would do a quick helicopter or drone search (see if PSP can help with this) of all the oil well pump sites and access roads on the off chance one was used as a dumping site, then follow up with hasty teams checking each one to a depth of 15' into the woods. This would clear about 90% of your vehicle accessible areas. Getting some assistance from Jeep, ATV and Dune Buggy clubs would help speed up the process. Follow that up with fire, logging, power line, pipeline and other access trails/roads using the same methodology. Your last option is a line search of the wooded areas.

State Police Investigating After Human Remains Found In Elk County

ELK COUNTY, PA. (WJAC) — Elk County authorities have identified the human remains discovered in the Twin Lakes Recreational Area Sunday.

According to Elk County Coroner Michelle Muccio, the remains have been identified as 53-year-old Frank Gillespie of James City.
