Another possibility for the FA is "fair". Though I don't remember any stores that begin with Fair I feel pretty certain there was some.

Theres a Farmers Market in Birdsboro, Pa. close to French Creeck State Park. I wonder if that was there 20 years ago.

I checked the FAD stores, but they were in Ca.

You would think the store's name would be big and bold.

Food Fair's logo is very close to the font on the bag. (A link to pictures is posted somewhere below here or on the other grocery-bag thread.)

The guy at DCGrocery said Food Fair changed it's name to Pantry Pride in 1970.

There are still some Food Fair groceries out there though. I found current discussions on the chain. Might try checking for Food Fair grocers in areas surrounding this area or even in neighboring states.

how about Grand Econo or Great Value? One of those two ran ad's every week in the paper. If you spent so much you could get the milk for 49 cents or other deal. I just don't remember them putting it on the bags.
I keep thinking about the way she was dressed. It must have been late spring, summer or very early fall when she died. She wasn't dressed for church, an evening out, a trip to the mall, or work. She was dressed for the farmers market, flea market, grocery store shopping, or a day at the park or knocking around at home. She obviously wan't abducted or there would have been reports to the police. She must have been killed by a husband, boyfriend or close friend, and had no relatives living in her area.

hey, I remember there was another "farmer" store too. "Farmer Grant". (I was on my way home, saw some billboard- don't even remember what was on it- but when I saw it, that memory just clicked)
I couldn't find a listing for it, so it probably isn't in business anymore.
Sorry, everyone, I know all kinds of ideas have been thrown out there, but I just have this gut feeling that won't go away that it is connected with the "Farmer" stores. I don't think they were all owned by the same company, if you know what I mean. (Like Farmer Jack is now owned by A&P)
I wonder if there is anyway of looking up names of stores that are no longer in business?

After looking at the photo comparison a bit more... I find that the F and A are actually very different. The F on the crime scene bag has to much space between the middle section and top of the F (quite a bit more than that of the Farmer Jack Logo). The A on the crime scene bag has to much space between the middle section and the bottom of the A (quite a bit more than that of the Farmer Jack Logo). It looks as though the spaces are very narrow on the Farmer Jack Logo. I hope what I am trying to say makes sense to you.

This is not to say that it is not possible that they didn't change the bags at some point, but just to get you to take another look.

Since coming to WS I have found that not all LE add missing persons reports to a database. This is a real problem. This woman could have a missing person’s report out there somewhere but it has never been brought to national attention.

I was watching Dateline tonight. A young woman was missing for 24 years before LE took notice. Her murder was solved after a family member took it upon herself to investigate her cousins disappearance and approach Detectives with the info she had gathered. They realized after being missing 24 years she must not have been a run away. To the credit of detectives they did solve the case and got the boyfriend to confess to the murder.

So sad that it is not required that all missing person report be added to national database.

I find the cold cases very interesting. The words on this bag are intriguing.
ater, I am starting to think belongs to the word "theater". Most parts of the country did away with drive in theaters years ago, but that area of Pa. still has them today. I am also toying with the word "Farmington" which is a place close to tht area.
