HARRISON TOWNSHIP, PA — A registered nurse has been accused of administering lethal doses of unnecessary medication that killed two patients and left a third hospitalized.

Heather Pressdee, 40, of Harrison, was charged with two counts of homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, neglect of a care-dependent person and reckless endangerment. The charges were announced Thursday by Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry.

“Pressdee is accused of administering excessive amounts of insulin to these patients, some of whom were diabetic and required insulin, and some of whom were not. In total, seventeen patients died who had been cared for by Pressdee,” the release added.


According to an affidavit of probable cause filed November 2, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office said Pressdee, of Natrona Heights, had admitted to trying to kill 19 other patients with insulin at five different rehabilitation centers.

Pressdee typically administered the insulin during overnight shifts when staffing was low and the emergencies would not prompt immediate hospitalization.

The victims ranged in age from 43 to 104.

In total, Pressdee is charged regarding her mistreatment of 22 patients.

Pressdee is charged with first-degree murder in the cases where physical evidence is available to support the cause of death. Attempted murder is charged in the cases where the victims either survived the excessive dosage of insulin, or the cause of death could not be determined.

Just like the angle of death, which I watched the movie last night on Netflix, there are probably more deaths but they can't be proven about Heather Pressdee which they would need to prove if she's a serial murder, which requires more than 3 deaths to count as one. She only did it twice, so it's just a double homicide conviction at this point.
