I would like to know where this child's grandfather was during the attack. If he's caretaker to this lady shouldn't he check when he heard her screaming at the 10 year old? If indeed the family realized their child had mental health issues before this incident and I'm assuming that grandpa would have noticed his behavior as well over the years why would they allow him in close proximity (unsurpervised) to a frail 90 yo lady?

I'm not sure I totally agree that this young man should be tried as an adult but I am sure that I think he should be locked up forever. MOO

I'm not any kind of lawyer, APG, so I was wondering the same thing. I re-posted the court link from an earlier post in this thread, to see if there had been an update after the hearing, because it's eerily quiet on the eastern front (of the US, i.e. PA) while a 10 year old is being held without bail.

Thanks, Richrd. I wonder why there is so much secrecy about this case? Not that the official actions aren't making it into the public record, but there's more to this than is being revealed in the media. I don't want to overstep, but I have discovered alot of things that make me wish I was an attorney and could represent Tristen, lol. For a kid who either doesn't know how to spell his own name or his lawyers and the court don't know, the way he's been allowed to scribble his "signature" on a court document waiving any procedure looks alot like he's being railroaded. Who will lose anything if Tristen does NOT get put away for this? His parents, his grandparents, his extended relatives in the justice system and the care home that was being paid to take care of Helen. If a ten year old can be made responsible for all of the mistakes that led to him using a cane on a defenseless woman, there is more wrong with this country than I thought previously possible. That's just opinion; I'm debating whether or not to present the "facts" I have found because Tristen's family apparently has extensive reach!

I've been hanging on to this info for over a month, hoping I would see it in the media, and I'm so curious as to why it hasn't been reported anywhere. Since the insiders thread says that only the moderators are privy to the list of people who've been verified, is there a way to post something in a thread where it can't be seen publicly and maybe the information can be either verified or dismissed by the "I&VP's"?

Hope it's been made clear that ALL Charges in All PA Counties, (except Philadelphia), begin in

Lower, Magisterial District Justice Courts, (formerly known as Justice-Of-The-Peace Courts).

As expected, the Lower Court Judge Closed-Out & Advanced both charges to the

Upper, County Court of Common Pleas, due to their severity.

Upper Court Formal Arraignment is Scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th.

By then, Upper Court will have issued a New, Upper Court Docket Number similar to:

CP-64-CR-00004__-2014.

Anthony Virbitsky, 69, Tristen’s grandfather who has been looking after Ms Novak, went into her room at around 10.30am and found her breathing heavy and looking terrified.

About 30 minutes later, the caretaker checked up on her again and found the 90-year-old unresponsive.

When interviewed by police Saturday, Tristen Kurilla reportedly told a trooper: 'I killed that lady.

The caretaker LEFT the terrified woman and then came back 30 minutes later to find her dead? Was he trying to avoid calling 911? Did the kid go back into her room during the 30 minute period?
