State police consider Whalen to be a danger to himself. His family says he has a history of depression and other mental health issues.

Whalen, who also goes by Izzy, was seen near Carlisle on Friday after he left work. His family has been searching for him since they've assembled a search team in the Pine Brook development to try to find him. Izzy's family and friends are searching for him in this area because this is where he lives. It is also the last place he was seen.

“A lot of it was undecipherable,” she says. “It wasn’t a direct threat, but it was enough to scare us, based on his mental health history.”

Pensacola, Florida area residents are asked to be on the lookout for Israel "Izzy" Whalen, who attended Pensacola Christian College in 2014-2015 and often mentioned his fondness for the area.

Whalen is from Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, but also lived in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and Pensacola.

The shopping center mentioned in the NAMUS post is not far from a stretch of the Appalachian Trail. My inlaws house is super close to the trail and my FIL regularly maintains that stretch. It's also close to Interstate 81 as well as the PA turnpike, with several truck stops nearby. I haven't seen anything asking for help searching, unless I've missed it. If he wanted to disappear he chose a pretty good place to do it. Hopefully he's found safe.
ETA I see some stuff about searches on SM using #Bringizzyhome and inquired about more searches.

That’s very interesting. I hope that was a legit tip and someone actually saw Israel. Why would he just leave all of his belongings behind on a lunch break, not tell anyone where he was going, 80miles away from home and the bloodhounds picked up his scent from Red Robin not too far and then the sent just stops? Only for Israel to possibly go home, but still no word? These missing men are all too sad and kinda seems like they are just alittle more than a coincidence

I hope his family get some answers soon. It does seem strange the way the scent seemed to just stop for the tracking dogs - possibly got into a car so where now? His own car still at his workplace...

He was found right near the Red Robin , where he was last seen. But yet his sent was picked up and ended on the opposite side of the shopping center.

Maybe, since he frequented that area for work, the scent the dogs were picking up was from earlier in the day, week etc??
