Man accused of breaking into Coatesville home multiple times, attempting to kidnap girl

Police arrested a man who they say broke into a home in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, multiple times and attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old girl.

According to police, Jefferson Mejia Gonzalez was caught on camera on Christmas Eve breaking into a Coatesville family home.

Homeowner Tiffani Szabara said Gonzalez broke into her house four times since September just to watch her 9-year-old daughter sleep and talk to her.

"I honestly felt guilty and kind of shameful because I felt like I wasn't doing my best to protect my kids," Szabara told NBC10.

A man is in custody after a Chester County mother says he broke into her house multiple times to watch her daughter sleep. The mom claims the suspect broke into her home at least four times.

In September, Szabara says she woke up to police at her door on Pennsylvania Avenue, after her neighbors noticed someone on her property and the back door completely off the hinges. "It was kinda surreal. They had to check the house to make sure he wasn't still inside."

Over the course of the next three months, she says she and her family were subject to at least three more break-ins. She installed a security camera and captured footage.

After getting new locks and having the landlord reinforce the door frame, she says the man snuck in again to her 9-year-old daughter's bedroom and attempted to speak to her. "The first thing he said to her was, ‘Would you go with me?’ She said, ‘No, I’m not stupid. Get out of my house."

OMG. He broke into the house multiple times? I would have had matching pit bulls sleeping in her bed beside her, one on each side. And a German Shepherd sleeping at each doorway. I can't believe he broke in 4 times!

He's lucky he didn't break into my granddaughter's bedroom because not only does my son have 3 big dogs, he also has a Glock at the bedside. Yikes, it breaks my heart that this poor child had to have a conversation with this vile creature in the middle of the night in her bedroom.
