BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — State Police are searching for a New Paris man who reportedly went missing just before Easter.

Jeffrey Taurianen, 33, was reported missing from Grasshopper Road in New Paris Borough as he was walking on April 16 around 4:30 p.m.

Family of Jeffrey took to Facebook and said he has hyperthyroidism that if not treated, may appear disoriented and confused.

Jeffrey is described as being a 5 foot 6 inches and 110 pounds Black male. He has black eyes and a shaved head. It’s unknown what he may have been wearing when he went missing.

Anyone with any information is asked to call State Police out of Bedford at 814-623-6133.

I have no clue about hyperthyroidism. Would Jeffrey only appear confused/disoriented but be fine, or would his mind be affected as well?

Jeffrey posted a video of himself on his Instagram (Aug'21). It might help if anyone who crosses his path happens to have the opportunity to talk with him. MOO Also note, as of 5 Apr his business (Everyday Repair) started accepting Cryptocurrency only until further notice. Not sure if that means anything at all... just thought I'd mention it.

It would help to know where along Grasshopper Rd Jeffrey went missing. At least three wooded sections along that road that would need to be searched. The remainder appear to be tree farms and very open.

Taurianen is a US Army Veteran who served in the special forces. Troopers said they couldn’t track him after he destroyed all his electronics and it’s unknown if he bought new ones.
