GUILTY PA - Jessica Padgett, 32, Northampton County, 21 November 2014

Thank you Geo! I appreciate your help.

Maybe one of his PT jobs was this?

http://centralfloridaoutdooradventures.com/about/

Wow, great sleuthing! Do you think the police are aware of this business? I'm hoping they are, so they can check in to it's legitimacy. And how typical of a man who enjoys killing things. The hog
hunting he takes customers on is a canned hunt. It's someone's private property where hogs are left to roam wild. Seems like the business associate who owns this land may be quite well off financially, a possible drug selling associate?

Do we know the content of the fax? Was it even related to GG in any way?

My gut keeps telling me that this was all about sexual abuse. I just can't shake the image of Jessica coming to terms with past abuse, perhaps threatening to talk to her mother when her mother returned from the trip to Florida. Something along these lines could have precipitated this horrific event. Pot dealing, though illegal, doesn't typically result in murder of family members.

BBM. But, where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Pot may not have been all he was dealing. And dealing drugs may not have been his only illegal activity.

Down here we have wild hogs everywhere. It may be wild ones they are killing. They are dangerous. I've seen them along the rd hit by cars several times.

As to the owner of the property, I didn't even look at that.

My gut is saying the same thing. Her recent marriage may have been the trigger. All speculation of course.

I'm sure by now LE knows a great deal more, which will come out in trial. One of my new questions is, was GG in the house alone when JP showed up?

  • #607
I don't know if GG's wife could be unaware of his drug business, especially if there was activity occurring in the house (basement, as one example). That's a big level of unawareness if she is claiming she had no idea. If the state wanted to pursue that particular issue they certainly could, or they could add it to GG's current list of charges, if they wanted to save the wife.

When I saw all the hunting pictures and read about the drugs, all I could think to myself is, "Redneck Trash." Sorry, but that's exactly what it all conjures for me. I personally abhor hunting as a "sport." There is nothing sporty about killing animals IMO. It's just another form of murder to me; it's not like these people will go hungry if they don't hunt. Yes, I do realize how judgmental I'm being, but there you have it.

I just wanted to point out something I noticed, It could be nothing but I don't know..Did anyone else notice that all of Gregs comments on Jessica's fb have been deleted? As if either him or her deleted them all? Like every comment made by Greg on her fb is gone. It's weird, Maybe they had some sort of falling out that resulted in this mess? Idk what could be bad enough where you think the only way out is to kill the other person tho..Surely all of us have hard times with family where we don't always get along but I wouldn't ever think about ending anyone let alone my own familys lives.

Interesting. This also happens when someone "unfriends" you, right? Because it appears Jessica and GG are no longer "friends" on facebook. I wonder when this happened?

Apparently this is where the body was found..behind this building on the property..it's sort of like a shed but where they did business..I found it on morning call idk if it had been posted yet..View attachment 64586

Do you have a link from MSM or LE that says this is the shed? I haven't seen it reported, and there are a lot of shed-like buildings on the property.

O/T but thought I'd throw this in here. There were human remains found in Volusia County in Florida that were brought in the Heather Elvis thread here on Websleuths; it seems they have more or less said it was NOT Heather, but yet they haven't said 100% it isn't. But from reading the posts about those remains, I do know other posters said that there are lots of missing people in Florida that have not been located. Not that it has anything to do with this case but just thought I'd throw in that little tidbit of info.

Kudos to those of you who found this other business in Florida!

This makes me wonder if any Jane or John Does in Florida should be checked with missing people from PA...I didn't follow Holly's case closely...but it seems like there may be some sleuthing opportunities out there for us if GG is proven to be more dangerous or violent than we know at this time.

On the homicide charge, Morganelli said he intends to seek a conviction for first-degree murder. If he can prove that Graf sexually assaulted Padgett, he said he will pursue the death penalty.
http://www.mcall.com/news/local/nor...rder-stepfather-marijuana-20141128-story.html

I've seen some speculation that the sexual assault or attempted assault victim may not have been Jessica, and that maybe she walked in on something - this article seems to imply that LE believes Jessica was a victim of sexual assault or attempted assault. I also remember in the PC they discussed elevated charges if the autopsy reveals evidence of sexual assault.

I know the timeline is tight, but sexual assault can occur in less than a minute's time.

Pennsylvania first degree murder statute:
§ 2502. Murder.
(a) Murder of the first degree.--A criminal homicide constitutes murder of the first degree when it is committed by an intentional killing.
18 Pa. Cons. Stat. section 2502
http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/LI/CT/HTM/18/00.025.002.000..HTM

Pennsylvania state laws require proof of malice to distinguish murder from manslaughter. To prove malice in a murder case, the prosecutor must show the defendant's general intent to commit an unlawful act or achieve a harmful result. A prosecutor can establish either express malice or implied malice; first degree murder generally requires a showing of express malice.

In addition, the prosecutor must prove that the defendant had a specific intent to kill. In a first degree murder case, the state may prove the defendant's deliberate intent to commit an unlawful killing by considering the defendant's actions, use of a deadly weapon, or other circumstances.

First degree murder is the highest degree of murder in Pennsylvania and generally results in the most severe punishments available under state law. To prove first degree murder, the prosecutor must show that the defendant committed a premeditated, unlawful killing of a human being. The defendant's premeditation, planning, and deliberate acts set first degree murder apart from second degree murder.
http://statelaws.findlaw.com/pennsylvania-law/pennsylvania-first-degree-murder-laws.html (much more at link, including defenses to first degree murder in PA).

So with charging first degree murder, LE is implying that they can prove beyond reasonable doubt that GG premeditated, planned, and deliberately and intentionally killed Jessica. They did an incredible job obtaining evidence of his truck's movements. It also seems the employee who picked GG up near the repair shop is a cooperating witness. All of this is pointing towards a very strong case against GG. I am so grateful for this hard work in seeking justice for Jessica and her family!

I have followed the Holly Grim case very closely. It will be shocking if the two cases are related.
Distinctive Fence Co., which I believe is one in the same as her mother and step fathers home was searched. (sorry if that was reported on here already)

This is the first I've heard of any of these cases. After a quick read through what are the similarities here between these two cases? Were they both in the same trailer park? Is there a possibility here that the two are connected?

There aren't really similarities, just an unsolved case/missing woman from the same area. Holly disappeared from her home after dropping her son off at the bus stop.

I think it's far-fetched to the point of improbability that this GG case is related to a missing remains in FL or to any other missing female case. There's no evidence we've been made aware of that would link GG to any other case. Why invent connections when there's no evidence of any?

I never meant to imply that there was current evidence of such! I hope the conditional tone of my statement is not misinterpreted.

This must have happened after 11 pm last nite. I was looking at both of them then and they were still friends.

I agree that we should not discount possible other "missing persons" disappearing at the hands of GG...

There are two cases I have followed on WS where the killer turned out to be a serial killer... And a serial rapist/killer...

Isaac Keyes in the Samantha Koenig case...

And... Jesse Matthew in the Hannah Graham and another WS case (girl with initials of MH... But I can't think of her name at the moment... Sorry.....)

JMO...
