The District Attorney's Office says that there was no use of weapons in or at the car and that the officers exited the vehicle before Rodriguez fired at them

The District Attorney's office says Rodriguez was armed with a handgun, which was not initially visible to the officers.

Rodriguez fired at police, who deployed their tasers and shot back, according to the district attorney's office.

It seems the story line will be - LE used a taser on this person, for whatever reason, and after being tased he pulled out a handgun and started firing at the officers and they shot back.

Not going to buy that one. It's a twist on 'he reached for his waist'.
