GUILTY PA - Kelley Snyder, 34, Renovo, 5 April 2015

  • #801
Then why not just divorce Kelley? They had no kids together, he wouldn't have been paying child support.

I have no idea why he wouldn't divorce instead of murder (or if the neighbor is even a consideration at all!) but I do think BJ and Kelley Jo had a child together.

Very sad story and I'm sorry for the children involved.

What an absolute worthless excuse for a human being (he drug her by her feet?). No excuse!

there is talk in the family bj took a plea. He went before Judge Mills Friday life without the possibility of parole.

  • #805
So I am wondering about the oldest child that lied to police about seeing Kelly Jo leave the house for the store. Did she leave for the store and them come right back and then the fight? or is it an outright lie and BJ threatened that child to lie.

  • #806
bj adopted ty (kj's ty) and they had a 3 year old together. Kelly jo still would have kicked him to the curb. had the baby been his. Most of the women in our family are not very forgiving ( including myself) I do not think this was a heat of passion or self defense act.

  • #807
like most teenagers I really do not think he was paying attention. I think he was mistaken. bj told him (possibly) his mother was going to the store. and he thought he heard the door open and close. assuming she left? I am not sure. he may have threatened him. maybe that's why ty was not on camera? I am not really sure. we are not allowed to talk to ty because there is an order of protection from bj's parents.I would not ask him about this whole thing unless he offered it. I just think he needs support right now.

True. Another word for a 'physical altercation' is a knock down drag out fight. He strangled her. They went down on the floor. These things don't happen quietly and there is no way those children were not exposed to the terror that went on. Support for children in these situations is necessary but IMO they will be affected forever by it.

that they unfortunately will. There will be no more happy Easter dinner's for them. It will be a reminder of the day their mother was ripped from them. By the hands of someone they trusted and she trusted. It is very sad.My family will be affected forever.

So sorry, ah ha! For KJ's entire family and all of those who love her. This is a true tragedy.

Does not make much sense that BJ would take a plea bargain for a life without sentence when PA currently has no death penalty. This would be the most severe sentence that could be imposed. Also, there are still so many unanswered questions concerning the wallet being found and the friend who was there earlier coloring eggs. Hopefully LEO has determined that BJ was the lone actor and absolutely no one else had any knowledge of anything.

  • #812
It still baffles me that this guy couldn't understand "all this punishment stuff."

"There will be charges coming forward in the death of his wife. He needs to remain in jail until those charges come forward," Maggs told Sanders."

"I have never been in trouble. I don't understand all this punishment stuff... but isn't there something... like a tracking device... an ankle thing. I don't know if there is such a thing but I just want to spend time with my kids."

Maybe he agreed to a deal that would not include charges of threatening and coercing the children to lie for him.

I just never heard of anyone pleading for a life without sentence when the death penalty wasn't on the table, but he has already proved that he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. You would think he would take his chances making them prove that it was murder in the first degree or plead out to murder 3rd and hope for a 20 or 30 year sentence with the rest of his charges to run concurrent. He would at least then be eligible to appear before the parole board. Life without means life with no chance of ever getting out without a pardon. It also means a sure trip to a maximum security prison no matter what anyone or any judge recommends.

  • #815
He wants low bail so he can get out and be with his kids. And what if he was allowed out on bail and he decided to kill any of the kids who witnessed anything so they couldn't tell what really happened? Or decided to kill the kids and himself? The kids are safest with him in jail.

It appears that was a preliminary hearing which was waived. The case was transferred to the Court of Common Pleas on 7/2. The formal arraignment will be August 24, 2015 at 8:30AM.

https://ujsportal.pacourts.us/docketsheets/MDJReport.ashx?docketNumber=MJ-25303-CR-0000027-2015

On the "Docket Entry Information" section it states a subpoena was issued via hand delivery on 6/25/15 which applies to "Restricted Participant". I have no idea what that means.

A subpoena may have been issued to the neighbor who witnessed him getting the fake note from the mailbox. That person is not charged and would not be named in the documents? My other thought re "participant" would be the juvenile child who apparently was coerced to lie saying that he saw her leave to go to the store when all the while they had had a violent confrontation inside the house.
