JS is 35, so 35 1/2 minimum puts him at 70 1/2 years old, plus 17 on other charges takes him to 87 1/2. I doubt he would live that long in a prison setting. I wonder when his first parole hearing would be?

This is possibly the most heartbreaking case I've followed. Poor sweet girl. Just heart wrenching. Her sweet, dear family. What a beautiful child you raised and she did not deserve this! I hope this monster suffers! MOO

The Pennsylvania Parole Board recently recommitted Justo Smoker, the man responsible for the kidnapping and murder of 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos, to his unexpired balance on a parole violation from a string of armed robberies and burglaries committed in 2006. The Board sentenced Smoker to serve 17 years, 5 months and 30 days – the maximum time available for violating his parole. Combined with the sentence he received for the kidnapping and murder of Linda Stoltzfoos, Smoker will serve a minimum of at least 53 years in a state correctional facility before becoming eligible for parole. The law requires that Smoker must first serve the Board’s 17 ½ year parole sentence before he may begin to serve the 35 ½ year sentence he received on July 23, 2021.

The sentence will be served in addition to the sentence Smoker received for pleading guilty to Stoltzfoos' murder. He will be 87 before he's eligible for parole...

  Our dog program is Pups Assisting Wounded Soldiers (PAWS), and through it dogs from the Elk County Humane Society are socialized and trained by inmates. The dogs spend 12 weeks at Forest learning basic obedience, walking on a loose leash and coming when called.
