Found Deceased PA - Maria Kraus, 38, Wall, vehicle found in North Versailles, 10 February 2025

Looking at this map I'm having hard time thinking this is a suicide. I think it was setup to appear to look like a suicide. I believe her body is probably somewhere else. I feel like if she jumped into that waterway which isnt more than 8 ft deep, and considering her physical attributes (weight) she could be found pretty easily in the water. Also being that early in the morning and considering how busy those roads are as well as the business there, she would have been seen. I think theres a higher probability of her car being dumped there on purpose.

I'm not ignoring the fact of what a news article says. I do though take sightings with a grain of salt. I am part of a search and rescue team, and I'd say a very high number of sightings never pan out. I was on a search recently and we received a call that the kid was spotted at a park. Ten Minutes later he was found in an abandon building 6 miles away. What I find intriguing is this here. Her boyfriend was a witness that saw her, but he didn't want to be late from lunch break. Thats just a really odd thing. Now the allegheny county missing poster says she was last seen at 8:45 am. This says 12:56pm

Yes, the original reporting was confusing/jumbled. Here's what the original article (on page one) stated:

Grondziowski, her boyfriend, was among those who said she was last seen around 12:30pm in the area.

"I am feeling so bad at this time," another person wrote.

"I seen her at the same location @ noon and she was still in the same area at about 12:56, wanted stop but didn’t want to be late from lunch.

Excellent question. I'd like to know that as well. That's what initially made me think it was her boyfriend who made that statement.

Allegheny County officials confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that first responders had found a woman's body underneath the Westinghouse Bridge before 6 p.m.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner later identified the woman as 39-year-old Maria Kraus.

This is heartbreaking. Many condolences to Maria's loved ones.

"As many of you may have heard, there was significant activity in the area where my sister Maria went missing," brother Justin Kraus said. "Unfortunately, I have to share this, but I want my friends and family to hear it from a reliable source rather than through misguided social media posts."


The post continued, saying, in part, "Maria was fighting demons that we were unaware of, and now she has found peace. This is heartbreaking and not the outcome anyone hoped for. However, we can now bring Maria home and give her the memorial she deserves."
