Just to add, after a bit of further research it does not seem likely that NY Maria and PA Maria were the same person, despite the same name and similar age. NY Maria was in NY for few years and she has worked there for some time. No photos or other details are available anywhere yet of her.

Her partial remains were found in Pohatcong, New Jersey in May 2017 and were identified by Ramapo College IGG Center in March 2025.

The remains of a woman who disappeared more than 10 years ago have been identified, and as CBS News New York's Christine Sloan reports, students at a New Jersey college are being credited for helping police with this cold case.

Probably highly unlikely, but not impossible. The WFMZ article posted above did say she had a history of wandering off from home for extended periods and reappearing in NYC shelters. But that would mean she lived in both Allentown and Brooklyn, yet stayed in homeless shelters anyway. Plus the article didn't mention the name "Garcia". Wonder what happened. This one doesn't seem solvable though, unless it was a homicide and someone confesses. Maybe a degree of mental illness involved? It's very strange that she had an actual home in Allentown, yet kept showing up in NY shelters (which are as awful as you could imagine).
