PA - Mass shooting, five adults & unborn child dead, Wilkinsburg, March 2016

Questions remain. How many guests were at the gathering and how long had the party been going-on?

News articles mention the possibility of some kind of argument.

I'm leaning towards thinking that the shooters are related or at least associated with the victims, and that they may have attended the party and left after an argument.

I live in the Midwest. Five people were murdered few days ago. Four in Kansas City, Kansas and one in rural town 70 miles away in Missouri . I have not seen a thread on WS for that case as yet. Seems an illegal alien did the deeds.

It seems to me that whether it be technology or not, there has become a huge disconnect for the values of human life anymore. A younger generation of criminals think nothing of killing multiple people with absolutely no remorse. Putting them in Prison doesn't seem to work, as we already have highest prison prison population in the World. The Death Penalty doesn't work as a determent IMO because we can't make up our mind on the issue and most die of old age before execution because of it. I just don't know what it will take to regain the values that we, as a society seem to have lost, IMO.

Video games. Social media. Media sensationalizing shootings and other crimes, making the perps almost famous. I mean you name it, all the reason.

Also people got killed all the time, the availability of instant news and multiple outlets we hear about it more.

Authorities say the death of an 8-month-old fetus in a shooting at a backyard cookout near Pittsburgh has been ruled a homicide.

I certainly hope this is not going to be one of those cases like they have WAY too often in Chicago where witnesses will not cooperate for fear of retribution or being labeled a "snitch".

Vernes Pugh says he can hardly believe that his daughter was one of the victims killed in a mass shooting Wednesday night in Wilkinsburg.
“I was calling my daughter to see if [she] heard about it and come to find out, she was the victim. It hurts and I feel terrible, I feel terrible. It hadn’t really hit me yet. But, it’s going to hit me, it’s going to hit me hard,” Pugh said.
“I was coming here to see if she was in here and then I went to Presby, get no answers. Then, I figured I’d go to the morgue. I went down to the morgue and that’s when I identified her,” Pugh said.

Pugh says Shelton, his first born, was a mother of five. He picked her up from work Wednesday evening.


Chanetta was eight months pregnant with a son and was due on May 23. She also had an 8-month-old baby and a 6-year-old son.
Shelton lost three children and two nieces in the shooting.

Mother Reeling After Pennsylvania Shooting: 'My Whole Family Was Massacred'

Jessica Shelton, whose three adult children and two adult nieces were killed, and whose son is among the injured, said she was at the barbecue earlier in the evening, enjoying a bout of Spring-like weather outside the house that belonged to her daughter, Brittany Powell, 27.


Shelton told reporters that her daughter welcomed three men to the cookout who Shelton didn't recognize, but said that they seemed "nice."


"They were interacting, so I didn't feel like it was anything suspicious," she said.


Shelton said the impromptu cookout came together after family members called one another to sit in the warm weather.


"It wasn't like we put it on social media," she said.


She questioned whether the strangers at the cookout were tied to the violence.


"My whole family was massacred. Why didn't these three guys get hurt?" she said.

Robert Morris, 15, who lives across the street from the house where the shooting occurred, said this morning that when he heard the gunshots Wednesday night, he got on the ground and curled up into a ball. His mother, he said, was "freaking out."

When he ran outside he said he saw young children who were at the cookout screaming for their parents.

And I don't understand how this was an unplanned cook-out but the shooting looks coordinated and planned. It does seem like the three strangers who were at the family gathering left and came back with guns.

Wow this is so sad. They all look like a fun loving bunch! I hope they find the killers, just sickening that this happened and someone is evil enough to do this to a family who was doing nothing but having a good time.
