The first of six victims from Wednesday’s mass shooting at a family cookout in Wilkinsburg will be laid to rest Monday.
Visitation for 26-year old Shada Mahone will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Braddock, a representative from the funeral home confirmed Sunday evening. A funeral service will be held immediately after at the nearby Unity Baptist Church.

That was an awesome timeline of events CARIIS! I am sorry to hear you have lived this type of court battle nightmare... I have had friends and family members that have been in the battle and felt that one parent had 100% vested interest in the welfare of the children and the other just wanted to argue for the sake of not wanting the other to have anything or just to hurt the other parent emotionally or financially because they could, not because they cared.
I would think that custody disputes could cause someone to lose it
Did u notice on the court docs the 8 month old had a different last name and a previous case (maybe paternity or support) was on file for a different dad for this baby? There may have been a lot of heartstrings pulled and cut over the past 8 months and that stuff can really ness with a person

they said in the second day they have a peice of phyical evidence, from inside the house, that (I will never forget this I thought it was amazing "clue") will help them with ONE of the suspects. I thought that was a very bizairre statement. By the silver haired guy.

He seemed very bright. at the time I wondered if he was trying to stir someone up!

In the Pittsburgh area facebook a video is going viral...........a woman telling it like it is about drugs etc. It has very adult language so it won't be aired on TV, wish it would. Everyone must know the consequence of kids growing up with crime and drugs in a family............WOW! and she is talking about this particular massacre

I am a longtime Pittsburgh resident and grew up in an area close to Wilkinsburg. Wilkinsburg was "on the way downhill" fifty years ago - meaning large older houses not being taken care of, being converted into "apartments" The once thriving shopping street saw mom & pop stores close as suburban malls opened. This happened many areas both in Pittsburgh and nationwide.

Wilkinsburg ended up becoming a "bad area" as a previous poster mentioned. I no longer would even drive through the area - and I knew it well, had shopped there, etc.

For the last 15-20 years it has been known as an area of drugs and shootings. Unfortunately there are areas just like Wilkinsburg in every large city in the US.

To answer the question as to why the story has been dropped by the national media: Because black on black drug/gang related stories don't "resonate" even when it is the mass murder of family members.

This is indeed sad. And I don't know what the answer is. But I do know it is not just a "Pittsburgh problem".

I was pondering this earlier - custudy makes sense IMO. But then after reading your post I thought well even if that is it a whole bunch of bad stuff could still be triggered.

There is something totally repulsive about this and I have concluded that it is the herding angle. I just cant fathum coming up with the idea - it numbs my brain - you just start shooting and everyone will run toward me and .....


and, it gives me the creeps in terms of copy cat, just that the "thought" of doing that same thing elsewhere...the MO is now, "out there" in the public domain...

there is just something abhorent in making people "run" to get shot in the head...............its gross.............it is more messed up than just shooting people if that makes any sense IMO.

I so agree with this statement, it makes me ill to think there is such evil out there among us. Who would be calculated enough to do this? Military background, or just a sick couple of people? Do we know that it is gang related ? Custody battle? doubtful. Who kills 6 people over a custody battle? More like retaliation for the murders that happened in 2014 , must be drug related aka money-related I would think. But, who really knows? 20 grand is a joke, I would give $5 to the witness protection program, that tax I wouldn't mind paying at all.
