Authorities Seek Fugitive in Child Sex Assault Case—Suspect Known to Frequent Ocean City and Delaware
Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating Shane Hennesy, 22, of Newton Square, Pennsylvania, who is wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Pine Hill, New Jersey. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office reports that Hennesy was charged on February 20, 2025, with the following offenses:
Aggravated Sexual Assault (1st degree)
Sexual Assault (2nd degree)
Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3rd degree, 2 counts)
The assaults allegedly occurred between December 2024 and January 2025, after Hennesy met the victim online.
Hennesy is described as a white male, approximately 6’1” tall, weighing around 200 pounds, with long, shaggy brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities note that he may have recently lost weight. While the charges stem from an investigation in Pine Hill, Hennesy is known to frequent Newton Square (PA), Ocean City (MD), and Newark (DE)—prompting a wider regional search that includes areas within the Shore News Beacon coverage region.
The U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to his arrest.
Anyone with information on Hennesy’s whereabouts is urged to contact Senior Detective Stephen Bezich at (609) 331-0310.
Information specific to the investigation can also be shared with Detective Kerry Butler of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit at (856) 225-8664 or by submitting tips at CAMDEN.TIPS.
