Darn, I jumped on quick at work to see if there are any updates yet, but nothing I guess. I hoped they'd find them by now.

I'd forgotten about Starkweather ... gives me the chills thinking about it.

LITITZ, Pa. -- Police say two missing teens have been spotted in Pennsylvania.

Lititz Police Chief William Seace said David Ludwig, 18, and his girlfriend Kara Borden, 14, were both spotted in the Lockhaven Lamar area on I-80 near Exit 173. Seace said Borden appeared to be crying and that she had changed her appearance. He said she was now wearing her hair in a pony tail.

Seace said Ludwig had also changed his appearance, cutting his hair until it was about an inch long. Seace said Ludwig had been positively identified.

This story is developing. We'll post them as soon as they become available.

Police searched across the East on Monday for an 18-year-old man and his girlfriend, whose parents were found shot to death in their home. The girlfriend's sister told authorities she saw the youth kill her father.

Police said David G. Ludwig killed 14-year-old Kara Beth Borden's parents, Michael F. and Cathryn Lee Borden, after they and their daughter argued about her curfew. The girl was last seen after the shootings Sunday morning at the family's home in Warwick Township, about 60 miles west of Philadelphia.

Kara Beth's 13-year-old sister, Katelyn, told investigators her father and mother were shot after they argued with Ludwig for about an hour, according to a police affidavit filed in court.

"As they got near the front door, Katelyn Borden saw David Ludwig with a handgun pointed toward her father and Katelyn saw David Ludwig pull the trigger, heard a gunshot, and then she ran into the bathroom," the affidavit said.

She heard a second shot - presumably the one that killed her mother - while hiding in the bathroom, it said. Ludwig then ran through the house calling for Kara, she told investigators.

The couple's 9-year-old son ran to the home of neighbors, who called 911, police said earlier.

Coroner Predicts Bad End

Lancaster County Coroner Gary Kirchner says it looks Borden's parents each died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Kirchner said the disappearance of murder suspect Ludwig along with the victims' 14-year-old daughter, in his words, "isn't a Romeo-and-Juliet deal." He said the search for Ludwig and Borden won't end well.

Lockhaven, Pa to Warren, Ind. is 501 miles. Both sightings can't be right today. Watch for follow up to come quickly. They may list a time this morning they were in Lock Haven.

My local noon news said that they may have been sighted in Huntington County Indiana today. I think they said that they were pulled over in a traffic stop, but that can't be right can it?

Kara (or someone) logged into her myspace.com blog last night at 11:35 pm.

Someone took a screenshot and posted it here. (Scroll down)

This is the direct link to the image.

The boyfriend had multiple laptops. They could have logged on from a hotel or hotspot. LE should track that IP address.

Police say two missing teens seen in central Pa.

<snip>

A missing 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man who allegedly murdered her parents were spotted at a central Pennsylvania gas station Monday morning, but were not caught, police said.

The shift manager at a truck stop Subway shop in Lamar said she sold the couple an Italian sub at about 9 a.m. on Monday, and thought they matched a radio description she had heard earlier.

"Her face was all puffy, her eyes were puffy," Amanda Workman told The Associated Press. "You could tell she was crying."

She said they paid cash and had apparently made another purchase from a different part of the truck stop.

"They were really shady. They didn't want to talk a lot. They just ordered their sandwich and left," Workman said.

Borden had her hair in a ponytail and appeared to be crying, Seace said. Ludwig has cut his hair to a length of about one inch, he said.

Workman, the truck stop worker, said she didn't see the car the couple was in.

She said the photograph police showed her of Kara Borden matched closedly, and recalled that she was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a printed pattern. Ludwig's hair is now much shorter.

"The guy that I seen had short hair, like he had shaved his head," Workman said.

Workman called police right away, first to get a better description and then to report a possible sighting. It took police about 20 minutes to respond, she said.
