Family and Police Looking for Missing Man Last Seen in Mahanoy City
Monday, February 22, 2021

• last seen in Mahanoy City on Sunday, February 14th, 2021
• severe medical conditions that requires medication.
• wearing an old green hooded sweatshirt and possibly a tan jacket.
• 6' tall, weighing 180lbs.
• [has] a very distinct walk.

Michael's family needs help getting the word out about his disappearance. His family and friends seem to be doing what they know to get the word out, but their efforts are limited, imo. I suggest they start a "Find" FB group so they can post pictures and information about some of the places he's known to frequent and to help coordinate foot searches, etc. Perhaps some of us could reach out to help them if/when the "Find" group gets started? I'll post below a couple of links that might be helpful to them. If anyone else has links that could help his family, please share.

Although the deceased has not been officially identified, Michael's mom and other family members have posted that these are his remains. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved Michael. May he forever rest in peace.

Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky, Mahanoy City, said he pronounced Michael Startzel, 36, of Mahanoy City, dead at 8:20 p.m... [snip] ...spent hours at the scene Friday night collecting evidence in the event the death would later be determined to be suspicious or criminal. So sad. Tragic really. I’ve typed so many posts for the repose of souls of those found deceased lately I’m thinking I need to just put in my signature. It’s heartbreaking.
