PA - Michele Cossey for child endangerment, Plymouth Twp, 2007

  • #21
I was just ranting to a co-worker about a parent I saw in the drugstore at lunchtime. She was waiting for a prescription for her husband. While waiting, she and her little girl were browsing around the store. This "drugstore" sells all sorts of stuff - cards, toys, Christmas decorations, jewelry - you name it. The little girl kept saying "I want that! I want this" etc. Mom, instead of saying "No" kept saying things like "I'm sorry - I don't have enough money for that" or "That's too big for you" or whatever. The kid was getting more and more worked up and started to scream so, instead of taking her outside or sitting her down in a chair, the dumba$$ mom starts negotiating with the little terrorist as to what she WILL buy for her. Offering small toys etc. The little girl appeared to be about 3.

I do NOT want to see her when she is 13.

Why can't parents be parents anymore?

I don't understand why the mom wasn't arrested for SOMETHING. Surely they could find SOMETHING! Unbelievable.

Does anyone remember the case where the parents were on trial for something their son did with guns or bombs, and they went to jail basically because they weren't aware of his cache in his bedroom? They just never went into his room and noticed the bomb making books and empty beer bottles etc.

It had to be about 8 yrs ago because I remember telling my then-teen daughter she better not be making bombs in her room since I didn't dare go into her room back then! Anyway, I don't remember the details, but it seems like this mom (and dad?) should be charged with something. **shrugs**

This is nuts.

She was arrested.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The mother of a 14-year-old who authorities say had a cache of guns, knives and explosive devices in his bedroom for a possible school attack was charged Friday with buying her son three weapons.

Michele Cossey bought her home-schooled son, Dillon, a .22-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a 9 mm semiautomatic rifle, authorities said. The teenager felt bullied and tried to recruit another boy for the possible attack at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in suburban Philadelphia, authorities said.

Unbelievable update:
Teen hailed as hero now judged as delinquent:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/02/29/hero.delinquent.ap/index.html?iref=werecommend

A teenager who was labeled a hero and met President Bush after turning in a boy who planned a high school attack admitted in juvenile court Friday that he had recently broke into the wannabe attacker's home.
The 14-year-old told a judge that he was involved in two break-ins into the other teen's home in the past few weeks. Two other ninth-graders also admitted they went into Dillon Cossey's Plymouth Township home at least once.
Prosecutors told the judge the teens took air guns, CDs, cash, jewelry, DVDs, video games and video game accessories.
All three teens were found delinquent and will be sentenced within a month. They could be sentenced, at most, to juvenile detention until they turn 21.

WHAT the HECK were they thinking??!!

For the love of God. That's here, TM. These people ain't the soundest I have to tell ya. Mr. Cossey recently got busted on drug charges. You'd think the "hero" kid wouldn't have butter melt in his mouth and here he goes burglarizing these people. All of them out their minds.
