I have the impression that she left with someone she knew... maybe he promised to take her to her sister in the hospital or some kind of help, perhaps monetary... it could also be that she was taken by force... it was a good responsible and educated girl who did not deserve that fate... I hope with all my heart that at the moment of leaving it was not so painful...
