District Attorney Zappala wishes to acknowledge the exhaustive work of the Allegheny County Police Department, plus the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police and FBI, as well as the assistance of Westmoreland and Indiana counties over the past four days. DA Zappala spoke with Indiana County DA Dougherty earlier tonight and our offices will be working together to determine the best way to proceed in order to achieve justice for Nalani Johnson and her family.

Is the area where she was found a park where you can take kids to play?

It's more of a hiking park with hunting in some areas. It also has pavilions and playgrounds on site with a lodge on the south end. It's 635 acres in space though, so a very large area.

Yes, no need for one. Also, no one noticed a child in a booster seat while Nancy was in Sheetz or stopped by the Monroeville mall. Interesting what surveillance will turn up. Secondly, why would she return to the scene of the “kidnapping” to wait in the car with the BOLO causally chatting and smoking? Finally, the location where Nalani was found was far and not well known. I have lived here for more than 10 years and have never heard of this park. This makes me think it was researched/planned by all two or three of them. Something soured and Paul turned on Nancy.

I just want to smash something right now. It angers me that we have such vile, evil, disgusting varmints in human form living on the same planet as us, and poor darlings like Nalani pay the price for their sick and disgusting behaviors.

So many obscenities I can't type here or I'd be banned, that I want to post right now towards those responsible.

My condolences to her loved ones, especially her mother and grandmother. Heartbreaking loss for them.

We should have a "/scream" thread to get it out of our systems. SERIOUSLY.

Upthread someone mentioned that it was odd that a woman would leave a child's body on land versus water (and that might indicate a males involvement in Nalanis death). I have been thinking about other cases and it does seem like those involving men typically involve disposing and covering childrens bodies on land and women disposing of children's bodies in water. Has anyone here at WS ever tried to dig into that pattern?

Legit I agree 100%. She seems like a psycho with mental issues. Doesn't have custody of her own kids and is married to a deported man and cheating on him with someone she met on SM.

I concur with the DA.

Absolutely top notch guys and gals that worked this case. Top notch. I can't say enough about them all, from start to finish, they were determined to find Nalani. I wish all LE was like this- even posting her photos, photo of the car seat. Amazing job by all of them, as well as the media for continuously updating and posting photos of her.

I pray it was quick. I am sick thinking she dumped her alive but injured in the park, only to die in that brutal storm. Alone and scared.

I’m doing the same and saying the same to myself. Then re-questioning why I wasn’t out there in those storms. Reality is though, even if us locals had, there is nothing we could have done, except to find her sooner. As heartbreaking as that is too.

So do not feel you’re obsessing over something silly, by any means. I’m stuck on the same object in her hand. Same here regarding searches then the two honestly didn’t make much sense to me as it turns out, was right in re: sun and mon. Miles away with no relation to any stories or cell pings.
I was determined today though, ordering flyers and was going to dumpster dive because I was just SO sure she would be in one and alive, then the outcome. I am seriously going to go to where others locally have started to put items as a memorial. If you’d like to meet, private message me and you don’t have to be alone.
People call these “cases”, and while I have mostly been lurking way back to Caylee when I lived in FL, everyone is so real here, with real feelings about real people. I get it, and so does everyone here.
I’ve taken many breaks (especially after Shanann), because I feel like every single time, same out come. But I’ll never give up.

I didn't buy that the father sold the little girl story from the start.

However, I am not yet letting him off the hook for the time being. He lied about a couple of things, too.

All night I have been trying to figure out why LE kept looking for the car seat? It was odd to me at the time. What would finding the car seat help if Nalani was not in it? I never felt they were looking for Nalani and the car seat to be together? This puzzles me. Maybe I am putting too much thought into this but is has been nagging me!

I think you are putting too much thought into it. I think they put out all possible scenarios....didn't want someone to NOT report a random car seat they saw just because a baby wasn't in it....

Oh,so there was a playground.That could have been used for a "story" as to explaining how Nalani disappeared.But the father never intended to stick with "the plan" and thought framing Nancy would be easier.
