I'm also wondering if they solved her murder, though I have no idea how much evidence would be left at this point.

She was identified nine months ago. What could the big update be, unless they identified a suspect?!?! That’s almost too much to hope for.

I know. Can't think of anything else. Unless they found more remains which is highly unlikely. I believe Joan's body was dumped at the site in June 1969. It's actually quite fitting, the anniversary of her disappearance is approaching.

I wonder if her killer is already in prison and he or she confessed to Joan's murder.

Or maybe they had killed before/after Joan's murder. At least for me, Joan's case seems calculated. They knew to dump her in a place she wouldn't be found for at least a long time.

Joan's death has been ruled a homicide. $5000 reward for information from the public

The police know the cause of death, but won't release it because it might be detrimental to the investigation

Strange on how they worded why they wouldn't release her cause of death. Wonder if it matched the MO of any other unsolved murders.

And that's it, the conference is over. To sum it up, Joan was definitely murdered and the police are asking for tips from the public about her disappearance. They're confident in the progress of the investigation.

How about Ted Bundy as a suspect in her death? She fits his type of victim (brunette with a middle part and petite). He was near Pennsylvania around the time.
