Body could be that of missing canoeist - New Jersey Herald -
Aug. 31, 2018
"FRENCHTOWN -- Authorities are using DNA and dental records as they attempt to identify skeletal remains found on a small island in the Delaware River on Monday."

"One possibility being investigated is that the body is that of a 53-year-old Scotch Plains man who went missing on Aug. 2. He was in a canoe with his wife and son in the river at Columbia when the boat overturned, authorities said at that time.

His wife and son were rescued, but the man's body was not found.

That case is being investigated by law enforcement officers of the Pennsylvania Boat and Fish Commission. On Thursday, they acknowledged they have been contacted by New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Bureau, which is assisting Frenchtown police and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office."

Seems like lots of bodies turn up in that river. I guess that's true of most big rivers though
